Job description

Position Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support erosion control, site development, and environmental service projects.

This position ensures equipment is used properly, production goals are met, and jobsite safety standards are upheld.

Operators are critical contributors to production performance and company profitability.

Primary Responsibilities

Equipment OperationOperate assigned equipment, including (as applicable):
  • Excavators
  • Skid steers
  • Dozers
  • Loaders
  • Backhoes
  • Trenchers
  • Vacuum trucks
  • Compaction equipment

    • Operate equipment according to project plans and the Superintendent's direction.

    Safety Compliance
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety standards
  • Participate in daily safety briefings
  • Identify hazards immediately
  • Use proper PPE at all times
  • Stop work if unsafe conditions arise
    • Equipment Inspection & Care
  • Perform daily pretrip inspections
  • Complete equipment inspection reports
  • Identify maintenance issues promptly
  • Maintain clean and organized equipment
  • Protect company assets from misuse
    • Production & Efficiency
  • Execute tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Support daily production targets
  • Minimize idle time
  • Coordinate with laborers and crew members
