Description
The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the continuity and growth of programs by developing, implementing, and administering year-round opportunities which meet the contemporary needs of girls aged 5-17, and to work with volunteers to offer membership and program extension. The Program Coordinator is responsible for three of the four offerings in their assigned market: Events, Product Sales, Outreach.
Requirements
General Responsibilities
  • Provide resources and guidance to help volunteers succeed at the service unit level.
  • Manage cases and tasks in Salesforce; train and assist volunteers on how to use the fall product and cookie program platforms; and train volunteers in how to register for events and camp using gsvents and doubleknot.
  • Address complaints and resolves issues in alignment with council policies, practices, and applicable laws.
  • Contribute to messaging in pursuance of funding and execute funded projects.
  • Track programmatic activities and expenses for program grants and other funding sources.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including, but not limited to, youth ages 5-17, adult volunteers, coworkers, potential funders, and business partners.
  • Gather and evaluate feedback, analyze program outcomes, and prepare reports to share insights with staff and volunteers.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other communication to share program achievements, challenges, and opportunities with stakeholders.
  • Use evaluation findings to inform programmatic decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance program quality and impact including keeping designated program partners informed of participant progress in programs.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of program participation, volunteer involvement, and program outcomes.
  • Develop, implement and oversee effective budget management practices with regional program budgets.
  • Stay informed about best practices, trends, and innovations in youth development, education, and community programming to inform program design and implementation.
  • Proactively anticipate potential issues, obstacles, or opportunities, and develop actionable plans to achieve goals while addressing unanticipated challenges.
  • Analyze market trends and community needs to develop innovative strategies for effective planning and delivery of youth programs and events.
  • Cultivate new and maintain existing relationships with individuals, businesses, schools, community partners, GSUSA, and other stakeholders to support organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Stay current on GSUSA initiatives as well as national and local trends impacting youth programming.
  • Ensure the interests, values, and needs of girls of all diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and disabled are reflected through various programming opportunities based on evaluations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Events
  • Design, implement, and evaluate year-round programs that cater to the diverse needs and developmental stages of girl members.
  • Provide engaging curricula aligned with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) framework, focusing on STEM, entrepreneurship, the outdoors, and life skills.
  • Collaborate with troop leaders to ensure programs are inclusive, interactive, and age appropriate.

Product Sales
  • Serve as the locally responsible staff for all cookie and fall product sale activities.
  • Manage the following logistics of the Girl Scout Cookie Program within a regional area to include: securing booth locations; procedure for distribution of the product to volunteers; providing and collecting receipts to support the completion of financial transactions; and inventory control.

Outreach
  • Write and maintain outcome-based curriculum incorporating the core program initiatives.
  • Partner with area schools and community organizations to deliver the curriculum.

Employment Requirements
  • Be a registered Girl Scout member.
  • Believe in the mission of Girl Scouting with the ability to communicate the mission to others.
  • Interpret and support GSUSA and council policies and standard procedures.
  • Uphold the code of conduct as outlined in the GSCI Employee Handbook.
  • Represent the organization professionally and uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
  • Ensure diversity and pluralism is embraced and incorporated into the work of the council.
  • Familiar with safety rules and regulations and take reasonable steps to ensure one's own health and safety, and that of others, and inform the manager of any hazard.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Team player with excellent customer service skills.
  • Be a positive and cooperative employee, willing to share resources and expertise.
  • Ability to pass a criminal and background check.
  • Ability to provide two professional references, with one being a previous supervisor.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred. An equivalent combination of education and work experience acceptable.
  • Works independently and as part of a cross functional team.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.
  • Maintain reliable transportation for daily travel.
  • Ability for occasional overnight travel when needed to conduct council business.
  • Valid transportation and current, valid driver's license and minimum state auto insurance required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills including oral and written communication.
  • Comfortable and able to use telephone to converse with customers.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet goals.

Position Certifications
  • State of Illinois Mandated Reporter
  • CPR/First Aid & AED
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid

Computer Skills:
  • Computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, including word, teams, outlook, excel, and other data tracking systems.
  • Experience in customer relationship management (CRM), preferably Salesforce.

Working Conditions
  • Office, Outdoor, and Community work environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and moderate lifting.
