Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior Communications Consultant to support a major national laboratory.ย 

The Senior Communications Consultant will lead strategic communication efforts to effectively convey complex technical information, promote IT initiatives, and support digital transformation goals. This role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in crafting compelling narratives, managing complex communication projects, and advising senior leadership on communication strategies. In addition, a deep understanding of IT concepts, IT communication needs and the ability to translate technical content into clear, engaging messages for diverse audiences including technical teams, end users, business stakeholders, and external partners.

Responsibilities
  • Translate IT related data, information, and knowledge into easily digested guidance for end-users to consume and utilize for troubleshooting and assistance.
  • Produce and manage content such as technical documentation summaries, user guides, FAQs, newsletters, intranet articles, and presentations.
  • Ensure all communications comply with IT governance, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply expertise in Knowledge Management (KM) tools and deploy information management and content management strategies and experience.
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of Knowledge Management (KM) strategies.
  • Comprehend and recognize key barriers to KM behavioral change and develop effective change management programs.
  • Analyze business processes, interview stakeholders, and evaluate strategic and IT plans to develop KM programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline and a minimum of 6 years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties.
  • Related experience may be substituted for relevant education and vice versa.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
ย Required Skills:
  • Experience working in enterprise IT environments or with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and information Technology communication best practices.
  • Experience with multimedia content creation (video, podcasts, webinars).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally with IT and business teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
Desired
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry or government sector.
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles and experience working with creative teams.
