What is a communication executive?

Communication Executives are professionals responsible for managing and overseeing an organization's internal and external communications. They develop communication strategies, create press releases, handle media relations, and ensure that the company's messaging is consistent across all platforms. Their role often involves crafting speeches, managing public relations campaigns, and responding to public inquiries. Communication Executives play a vital role in shaping public perception and supporting the organization's overall goals.

How does a communication executive typically collaborate with other departments within an organization?

As a Communication Executive, you will frequently work alongside teams such as marketing, human resources, and senior management to ensure messaging is consistent and aligns with the organization's goals. Collaboration might involve developing press releases with PR teams, coordinating internal announcements with HR, or supporting brand campaigns with marketing. Building strong relationships across departments is essential, as it helps streamline information flow and ensures all communications are accurate and timely. This cross-functional teamwork not only enhances your effectiveness but also provides insight into broader business operations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a communication executive, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Communication Executive, you need strong writing, editing, and public relations skills, often supported by a degree in communications, journalism, or a related field. Familiarity with media monitoring tools, content management systems, and digital marketing platforms is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects help you stand out in this role. These competencies are crucial for crafting effective messaging, maintaining a positive brand image, and successfully engaging diverse audiences.

Job description

We Are:

Accenture LearnVantage is the workforce reinvention platform of Accenture, combining the strengths of Udacity, Award Solutions, and Ascendient Learning to deliver AI-native digital learning, advanced wireless and 5G training, and instructor-led IT certification at enterprise scale. We operate at the intersection of AI, talent transformation, and business outcomes - and we are looking for exceptional enterprise sales leaders to help clients convert skill gaps into competitive advantage.

You Are:

A high-impact Enterprise Account Executive with a proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals in enterprise technology, workforce solutions, or corporate training environments. You combine strategic vision with relentless execution, and you are energized by the challenge of building executive relationships, co-selling alongside Accenture's Diamond Account teams, and positioning LearnVantage as a long-term workforce reinvention partner - not a training vendor. You bring strong commercial instincts, a consultative approach, and the presence to engage C-suite stakeholders with credibility and conviction.

The Work:

  • Partner alongside Accenture's Diamond Account sales teams to attach LearnVantage AI, data, cloud, networking, and certification training to large-scale transformation programs.

  • Engage Client Account Leads (CALs) and Managing Directors in account planning to identify and qualify LearnVantage opportunities within active client pursuits.

  • Identify and develop pipeline from existing Accenture accounts not yet engaged with LearnVantage, matching the right portfolio solution to client skill priorities.

  • Prospect, qualify, and develop a self-sourced pipeline in greenfield accounts with no existing Accenture footprint.

  • Conduct executive-level discovery and solution presentations with C-suite stakeholders (CIO, CHRO, CDO, CEO), establishing LearnVantage's credibility as a trusted partner in the AI economy.

  • Close net-new logos and expand existing accounts to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual bookings targets.

  • Use industry trends and AI market signals to craft insight-led narratives that resonate with client workforce priorities and business goals.

  • Demonstrate ROI through outcome evidence - connecting upskilling investments to adoption, capability development, productivity, and competitive readiness.

  • Serve as a feedback loop between clients and LearnVantage's curriculum, product, and content teams, surfacing emerging skill gaps and market opportunities.

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 25% to 50% depending on business need and client requirements.

Here's What You Need:

  • Minimum of 7 years of enterprise sales experience in technology services, workforce solutions, corporate training, IT certifications, or SaaS platforms sold into large enterprises ($500M+ revenue).

  • Minimum 5 years' experience selling to and influencing C-level executives (CIO, CHRO, CDO, CEO) at enterprise accounts.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience of value-selling and consultative sales methodologies (e.g., Challenger, MEDDPICC, or equivalent).

  • Track record of consistent overperformance against quota with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, $500K - $3M TCV deals. (100%+)

  • Minimum 5 years' experience navigating and co-selling within large, matrixed organizations - ideally alongside a global systems integrator or consulting firm.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)

Bonus Points If:

  • You have experience in corporate learning, AI and digital skills platforms, IT certification training, or edtech.

  • You are familiar with any LearnVantage solution area - AI/ML (Udacity), advanced wireless and 5G (Award Solutions), or instructor-led IT certification (Ascendient).

  • You have startup, high-growth, or early-stage company experience.

  • You have a genuine passion for AI and its transformative potential in the enterprise workforce.

Professional Experience

  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and the ability to lead compelling presentations and negotiations at the senior level.
