Job description

About the Role

In this role, you will create meaningful, memorable, actionable enterprise-wide communications that inform and engage associates.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop internal communications strategies that translate complex business topics into easily-digestable communications that inform and inspire associates as we progress along our company transformation journey.

  • Write and edit engaging and associate-friendly content for internal communication channels, including intranet content, employee emails, newsletters, and other platforms.

  • Parter with cross-functional leaders to understand organizational initiatives and priorities in the areas of marketing, merchandising, technology and digital. Translate these learnings into communications strategies for enterprise-wide distribution. 

  • Assist with Executive Communications events, including Quarterly Team Meetings and Seasonal Kickoffs. Partner with Internal Communications manager to develop agendas, coordinate speakers, and develop presentations that drive alignment and understanding of key initiatives within specific teams 

  • Leverage analytics to guide content strategy and pivot plans as needed to ensure objectives are met and exceeded

  • Draft communications using AP Style guidelines that leverage the appropriate content and tone

  • Guide business partners on the appropriate communication vehicles, timing and message for their communications and ensure content is created and published

  • Ensure awareness and alignment with business partners and senior leaders to key company communications and initiatives

  • Creatively ideate with and give clear direction to video and graphic production partners 

  • Oversee processes and guidelines for the creative development of associate-focused communication materials

  • Monitor industry trends and recommend actions to improve and modernize communications

  • Work with internal partners to evaluate processes to enhance team efficiency

  • Train new contributors on communication processes and vehicles

  • Additional tasks may be assigned

What Skills You Have

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Communication, Journalism or Marketing

  • 3-5 years of related experience 

  • Proven project management skills and the ability to multitask without sacrificing detail

  • Effective prioritization and decision-making skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing, proofreading and editing communications focused on AP Style

  • Solution-oriented problem solver 

  • Cross-functional collaborator

Preferred

  • Experience in a retail environment

  • Experience writing content briefs
