CLIENT/DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) is a non-profit medical professional society of influential scientists, academicians, researchers, clinicians, government representatives, and industry leaders from around the world dedicated to improving cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science and application of cancer immunotherapy.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, this position supports the mission of the society by assisting with marketing and communications, membership recruitment and retention, maintaining accurate membership records and reports via the Society's database processing of memberships and dues, distribution of member materials, and other duties as assigned.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (minimum of 37.5 hours/week):
  • Supports the Sr. Communications Manager in executing marketing and communications initiatives to increase audience engagement and support membership recruitment and retention goals, including coordinating email communications, website and social media content, and proofreading and formatting outgoing communications.
  • Coordinates the development and distribution of print and digital promotional materials, including managing mailing projects as needed.Provides first-line support for general society inquiries via phone and departmental email accounts.
  • Coordinates the processing of new member applications, luding follow-up communications and related administrative tasks, ensuring member information meets established data integrity standards.
  • Supports the management and engagement of society Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and member communities, including communications, coordination, content, and administrative needs.
  • Provides administrative and project support for department meetings and membership initiatives, including scheduling, invitations, agenda preparation, meeting minutes, action-item tracking, and project timelines.
  • Coordinates logistics for exhibiting efforts and maintains inventory of society marketing materials, exhibiting supplies, and promotional giveaways.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Outstanding interpersonal, organizational and communications skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and timelines. Acute attention to detail and a high accuracy on outputs. Able to work successfully in a hybrid work environment. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with databases such as iMIS and/or MS Access, social media platforms, website platforms (Higher Logic) email marketing platforms (Informz) and other editing tools a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree; communications, marketing or related field preferred. 0-2 years of work experience in a professional setting or customer service or nonprofit role.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a full-time position located in our office in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.

Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
