Job Summary
The Marketing and Communication Associate supports Aretum's internal communications, employee engagement, marketing content, and branded design needs. This role develops company announcements, executive messages, newsletters, recognition content, website updates, LinkedIn posts, presentations, one-pagers, and other visual materials that align with Aretum's brand, culture, and business objectives. The position also supports employee events, volunteer initiatives, and digital content performance tracking to strengthen engagement, consistency, and overall brand presence.
Due to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Corporate Communications
  • Draft, coordinate, and support company-wide communications, including organizational announcements, milestone updates, policy highlights, newsletters, memos, and leadership messages.
  • Prepare internal messages on behalf of the CEO and executive leadership team, ensuring communications are clear, professional, and aligned with ARETUM's strategy, culture, and tone.
  • Maintain consistency in messaging, cadence, formatting, and communication standards across internal channels.

Employee Engagement, Culture, and Recognition
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including anniversary celebrations, appreciation days, recognition campaigns, and culture-focused events.
  • Coordinate virtual and in-person employee events that promote connection, collaboration, and company culture.
  • Support volunteer, community service, and values-driven programs, including Champions for Change and related initiatives.
  • Manage employee recognition efforts, including award coordination, employee spotlights, nomination support, and related communications.

Graphic Design and Brand Support
  • Design and maintain branded materials, including presentations, one-pagers, infographics, templates, social media graphics, internal communication visuals, and occasional print materials.
  • Support business development and proposal efforts through custom graphics, visual storytelling, and professionally formatted materials.
  • Ensure all creative materials align with ARETUM's brand guidelines and meet standards for clarity, consistency, accessibility, and professionalism.
  • Build and maintain a shared library of approved design assets, graphics, and templates for cross-functional use.

Marketing Content and Digital Communications
  • Maintain and update ARETUM's website content, graphics, and visual elements to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
  • Manage LinkedIn content in coordination with internal teams to promote company milestones, employee engagement, events, achievements, and organizational updates.
  • Draft, format, and coordinate marketing materials, internal announcements, leadership communications, newsletters, and press release content for executive review.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather content, organize messaging, and ensure timely delivery of communication and marketing materials.

Web, Analytics, and Content Improvement
  • Monitor website performance and basic engagement metrics to help inform content updates, design improvements, and user experience enhancements.
  • Track digital content effectiveness and recommend improvements based on engagement, accessibility, usability, and brand consistency.
  • Support ongoing improvements to ARETUM's web presence, digital content organization, and overall communication effectiveness.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, visual communications, and marketing roles
  • Portfolio that shows strong design across digital and print-especially clean, branded layouts
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and/or Canva
  • Familiarity with WordPress or similar CMS tools, and basic web best practices
  • Strong writing/editing skills with attention to formatting, tone, and clarity
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable collaborating with multiple departments and senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting proposal design in a govcon
  • Light video editing or motion graphics
  • Working knowledge of SEO, UX, or accessibility design standards
  • Experience working in a high-growth or mid-sized company
