SUMMARY

Reporting into the Employee Engagement & Communications Specialist, the Communications Co-op will support the delivery of internal communications across the organization. This roleis situated within theHuman Resources team and works closely with HR and cross-functional partners. You will assist with drafting communications, supporting employee engagement initiatives, maintaining intranet content, and contributing to a variety of organization-wide projects in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

ENGAGEMENT & LEARNING

Internal Communications & Content Execution

  • Assist in drafting employee communications,including emails, announcements, and internal updates.

  • Support the creation and publishing of content on intranet platforms, such as news posts and department pages.

  • Contribute to the development of communication materials for organizational initiatives and updates.

  • Communicate updates and key messages to employees in a clear, engaging, and timely manner.

  • Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across communications.

Employee Engagement & Experience Support

  • Partner with HR team members to support employee engagement initiatives,including a recognition program.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear communicationand employee experiencethroughout acquisition and integration process.

  • Coordinate and execute employee engagement events, including days of recognition, spotlight series, and seasonal campaigns.

Communication Compliance &Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improvecommunication channels with on-site employees.

  • Recommend and implementenhancements toGIP'sIntranet site.

  • Manage and maintain the communications and engagement calendar to support consistent messaging.

Additional Program Support & Special Projects

  • Support onboarding communications for new employees and acquisitions.
  • Contribute to a wide range of evolving HR and business initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain organization and tracking of communication requests and deliverables.
  • Provide flexible support in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift regularly.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in apostsecondaryCommunications, Public Relations, Human Resources, or related program.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Experience in content creation for digital platforms (ex: intranet, newsletters, social media) is an asset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, andfamiliarity with SharePoint or similar tools is an asset.

  • Able to lift up to 25lbs.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Expected Base Salary: $20 - $23 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
