Hospice & Palliative Care Medical Director
MercyOne Genesis | Bettendorf, IA
MercyOne Genesis is seeking an experienced Hospice & Palliative Care Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for our established hospice program, including the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House and Hospice Home & Community Services.
In partnership with the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Services, and hospice leadership team, the Medical Director will oversee the quality and delivery of hospice and palliative care services while supporting program growth, quality initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Position Highlights
  • Full-time position with partial remote flexibility
  • Join a collaborative team of physicians and APP
  • Leadership role within a respected hospice (13 beds) and palliative care program
  • Teaching opportunities available
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Shared weekday call coverage with APP support

Qualifications
  • MD or DO with Iowa medical license
  • Board Certified; Hospice & Palliative Medicine certification preferred
  • Fellowship training and hospice/palliative care experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary team skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered care across physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural domains
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary: $260,000-$280,000
  • Relocation assistance up to $15,000
  • Annual CME allowance: $6,000
  • Paid malpractice with tail coverage
