Trade Operations Coordinator - Metals Recycling - Base Salary to 70k/year - Sandusky, OH

  • Our client is an established leader in the metals recycling and commodity trading industry, specializing in the purchase, processing, and distribution of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. They are seeking a Trade Operations Coordinator to support their trading team by managing the administrative and operational activities associated with commodity transactions.
  • This fully remote position serves as a key liaison between internal traders, suppliers, customers, and transportation partners to help ensure trades are processed accurately and shipments move efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with metals recycling or commodity trading support experience who enjoys a detail-oriented, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support a team of Traders with the daily execution and administrative processing of commodity transactions.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate trade information within internal systems.
  • Create, monitor, and close purchase orders and sales orders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding trade-related activities.
  • Assist with resolving customer service and order issues throughout the trading process.
  • Coordinate truck and rail shipments to support timely delivery of purchased and sold materials.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities related to commodity transactions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records associated with trades, logistics, and customer transactions.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy in a fast-moving, high-volume environment.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and AI productivity tools to improve efficiency and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in commodity trading support, trade operations, logistics coordination, sales support, supply chain, or a related administrative role.
  • Experience within the metals recycling, scrap metal, ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, steel, aluminum, copper, commodities, or related recycling industry.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, data entry, and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 60k - 70k/year range.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and paid time off.
