Job Description
The Commodity Manager responsible for Printed Circuit Boards will provide strategic and tactical leadership of a cross-functional team in the creation and implementation of strategy that ensures an uninterrupted flow of materials at the lowest total cost. This person will develop into the focal point, SME and own accountability for all issues related to the commodity, engaging appropriate resources as required to achieve annual metrics and reduce risk within our new product development teams.
Responsibilities
  • Develops, organizes and implements sourcing strategies to reduce total cost, ensure security of supply and increase operational efficiency while maintaining alignment and synergy with Tektronix product lines and Ralliant Corporation sourcing strategies.
  • RFQ, selection and qualification of suppliers including capability audits. Negotiation of contracts, NDAs, MOUs while owning supplier relationship development.
  • Ongoing performance management of suppliers within the commodity to achieve operational and procurement metrics such as savings (PPV, VAVE), delivery (OTD & Past due), quality (PPM), lead-time, MOQ, payment terms and innovation.
  • Facilitate early engagement and collaboration with Tek engineering to understand technical needs, contribute to roadmap creation and enable alignment of requirements with supplier capabilities.
  • Lead a cross-functional team that defines current and future technology needs while leveraging the strength of approved suppliers and potential technology leaders in our markets.
  • Balance global requirements of Tektronix with our supply base while expanding our supply chain to achieve lower risk alternatives.
  • Able to use lean tools to drive business results with a continuous improvement mindset. Lead workshops and kaizens within an operations environment.
  • Identify and mitigate internal and external risks to the commodity including development of business continuity plans with high-risk suppliers.
  • Willingness to manage additional commodities to meet business needs and strategy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience; MBA preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in procurement with demonstrated success in contract and commercial terms negotiation and administration, quality assurance and procurement management.
  • Capable of making tradeoffs between technical requirements, quality, commercial terms, risk management, logistics, regional sourcing plans and price when making strategic supplier selection decisions.
  • Experience working with design engineers and technical partners to develop roadmaps, statement of work requirements and associated cost models.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and project management experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated business acumen.
  • 5 years of knowledge and experience with PCB manufacturers and their associated industries.
  • International, multiple-site experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional matrixed team with people in remote locations.
  • Microsoft Office applications skills required.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time.
