Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is hiring a collaborative individual for the Electronics Commodity Management Professional position as we continue building out the Strategic Sourcing team to support multiple business areas across North America and internationally as necessary. This person will be primarily focused on electronics commodities.

This role will make an impact as a critical contributor to defense, security, and manufacturing programs by leading strategic sourcing activities focused on electronics. This person's responsibilities will include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Develop commodity category strategies to drive continuous value improvement for all aspects of Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation, and Sustainability within the supply base.

  • Lead, with internal stakeholder involvement, the identification, evaluation, selection, negotiation, and award of first-time contracts for new suppliers that meet the needs of multiple business units whenever possible.

  • Manage approved supplier list for suppliers supporting electronics commodities.

  • Support supply chain during win business process by identifying, vetting, and onboarding critical suppliers.

  • Analyze data to understand existing supply base and commodity categories.

  • Perform market research, gather market intelligence, and analyze trends for electronics category or others as needed.

  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities within electronics category by completing SWOT analysis and risk and opportunity assessments.

  • Partnering with internal stakeholders, including international Saab Affiliates as necessary, to determine future needs in both the near term and long term.

  • Create an adaptable supply chain for electronics commodities.

  • Lead supplier evaluations, with other Saab, Inc. employee involvement, of existing suppliers to understand a supplier's business, capabilities, people and processes, and to remain visible.

  • Conduct comprehensive spend analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities and lead resulting cost reduction initiatives including using supplier agreements as appropriate.

  • Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews, with internal stakeholder involvement, for critical suppliers to manage performance.

  • Support Saab Inc. Small Business objectives and promote a diverse and inclusive supply base.

  • Collaborate with cross functional groups to develop a supplier evaluation and scoring system resulting in data driven decisions of a supplier's status.

  • Develop or modify standard operating procedures and work instructions to document the process.


    Compensation:

    • $115,700 - $150,500

    The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

    Skills and Experience:
    • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering or equivalent is required

    • 8+ years with a BA/BS, or 6+ years with a Master's degree, of experience typically in Sourcing or Supply Chain Management is required

    • Strong financial acumen especially related to sourcing and supply chain

    • Strong electronics technical background

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    • Leadership and presentation skills.

    Desired Skills:

    • Aerospace & Defense experience

    • Proficiency with ERP systems to support business operations.

    • Advanced negotiations experience

    • Proven track record of spend management and development of commodity strategies

    • 2+ years experience with FAR/DFARS contract requirements

    • Professional certification or advanced degree

    Travel:

    • Domestic and international travel will be required up to 25% of your time

    Security Clearance:

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance if needed
