Inside Sales RepresentativePosition Summary

The Inside Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for existing and prospective customers, acting as a liaison between customers and internal departments to ensure exceptional service and timely communication. This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, processing orders, providing pricing and product information, coordinating customer requirements, and supporting sales growth while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in an office environment with occasional time spent in production facilities. Occasional evening or weekends may be required to support customer needs, industry events, or business initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow all company safety rules, policies, and procedures, working in a manner that protects yourself and others from hazards and injuries.
  • Serve as the primary contact for existing customers, responding promptly to inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and order status.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with current customers while identifying opportunities to expand business.
  • Review finished goods inventory and provide customers with open order reports and order status updates.
  • Prepare and distribute required customer documentation, forms, and sales-related paperwork.
  • Initiate contract reviews for new business opportunities and coordinate with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and account information within company systems.
  • Generate and distribute reports as required by management.
  • Communicate standard manufacturing capabilities, product specifications, and lead times to customers.
  • Collaborate with production, planning, quality, engineering, logistics, and other internal teams to ensure customer expectations are achieved.
  • Effectively communicate customer requirements, priorities, and concerns throughout the organization.
  • Calculate metal value firming and develop corresponding customer agreements.
  • Coordinate and oversee customer-specific programs and ongoing account activities.
  • Prepare quotations, provide pricing information, review customer purchase orders, and ensure order accuracy.
  • Resolve customer concerns and complaints professionally while working collaboratively with internal departments to identify timely solutions.
  • Assist in identifying new sales opportunities and supporting business development initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of inside sales or customer account management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and customer order management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience working with ERP systems or customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting customers in the metals, industrial manufacturing, or engineered products industry.
  • Experience with contract review processes and pricing administration.
  • Knowledge of metal pricing or commodity-based products.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally walk through manufacturing and production areas while following all required safety protocols.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
