We are seeking a Commodity Manager for the Panels & Keyboard commodity within the Avionics Strategy and Cost organization. This role is responsible for developing and executing the overall commodity strategy by partnering with internal stakeholders, aligning with key suppliers, and negotiating contracts that support business objectives. Key activities include renewing expiring agreements, expanding part coverage with strategic suppliers, and advancing initiatives tied to Avionics requirements.
This position is ideally based at our Cedar Rapids, IA location, and will typically work 2-4 days onsite. This role may be eligible for relocation.
Travel Required: 15%
What You Will Do
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Panels & Keyboard commodity and its supply base
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (contracts, procurement, quality, value stream, etc.) to execute supply chain strategies
  • Own and manage relationships with multiple strategic suppliers
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, competitiveness, capability, and reliability (TCO)
  • Negotiate and execute long-term agreements aligned with commodity strategy and stakeholder needs
  • Lead the sourcing process from RFQ through contract signature
  • Operate with limited oversight and drive decisions independently
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously using strong project management skills
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with leaders at all levels
  • Lead change management or work-transfer initiatives to achieve cost savings or improved supplier alignment
  • Analyze data to inform strategy development, negotiation positions, and supplier decisions

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
