Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a strategic and transformational technology Executive to serve as Head of FICC Technology. This role will lead technology strategy, delivery, and operational performance supporting the Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) business while helping accelerate the growth and evolution of U.S. Bank's Capital Markets franchise.

The individual in this role serves as the Senior technology leader partnering directly with FICC business executives to develop and execute a technology strategy that enables revenue growth, enhances client experiences, strengthens risk management capabilities, and modernizes critical trading and capital markets platforms. The successful candidate will operate as a highly visible Executive leader, influencing Senior business and technology stakeholders while driving large-scale transformation initiatives across front-office, middle-office, and enterprise functions.

A key component of this role will be partnering closely with business and technology leaders supporting business strategies, ensuring successful alignment of platforms, operating models, talent, and technology capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the technology vision, strategy, and investment roadmap supporting U.S. Bank's FICC business and broader capital markets growth objectives.

  • Partner directly with Senior FICC executives, including trading, sales, banking, operations, risk, and finance leaders, to translate business strategy into scalable technology solutions.

  • Lead a large, geographically dispersed technology organization responsible for application development, platform modernization, technology operations, architecture, and delivery execution.

  • Drive transformation initiatives supporting electronic trading, pricing, execution, booking, risk management, surveillance, market data, and end-to-end trade lifecycle capabilities.

  • Provide Executive leadership for strategic platform decisions, including modernization efforts, third-party solutions, build-versus-buy evaluations, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.

  • Lead technology integration activities associated with BTIG and future acquisition opportunities, ensuring realization of strategic business objectives and operational synergies.

  • Influence enterprise technology strategy through active participation on Senior technology leadership teams and cross-functional governance forums.

  • Establish strong partnerships across business, risk, compliance, legal, and audit functions to maintain an effective control environment while enabling innovation and speed to market.

  • Attract, develop, and retain top technology talent while building a high-performing, inclusive leadership culture focused on accountability, execution, and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee significant technology investments and budgets, ensuring delivery excellence while maximizing business value and return on investment.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 15+ years of experience leading large-scale technology organizations, including senior executive leadership experience.

  • Extensive experience developing and executing technology strategies supporting Capital Markets, Trading, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Commodities, or related financial services businesses.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with executive-level business leaders on strategic priorities and technology investments.

  • Experience leading large transformation programs involving platform modernization, organizational change, and delivery at scale.

  • Strong understanding of technology risk management, regulatory requirements, information security, and operational resiliency practices within financial services.

  • Proven track record integrating acquired organizations, platforms, or technology capabilities.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex global technology teams through periods of rapid growth and organizational transformation.

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and inspire both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience evaluating and deploying emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to enhance business outcomes and operational effectiveness.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $214,795.00 - $252,700.00
