GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Escrow Processor/Funder is responsible for swiftly and accurately releasing money from escrow accounts to external parties via wires or checks. The funder works in lockstep with the Escrow Officer so that the moment a real estate transaction closes, the funder immediately performs detailed quality control review of the transaction and, once the file is fully balanced, releases funds.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:

  1. Maintain awareness of all files scheduled to close in a particular day along with each file's exact status.
  2. Monitor the process of signing documents, balancing the file, recording and receiving funding authorization.
  3. Once escrow officer confirms closing, immediately perform quality control activities to confirm payees, match disbursement ย ย ย ย ย ledger to settlement statement, ensure file is balances and that documents are recorded.
  4. Confirm that wiring instructions are accurate.
  5. Push wire data to the banking system for release.
  6. Follow up and resolve any matter pertaining to rejected wires.
  7. Print checks and deliver to the closing table or send proper parties.
  8. Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  1. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, the general public and other employees of the organization.
  2. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  3. CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS: Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed ย ย ย ย ย instructions; ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situation of a routine nature.
  4. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Under general direction, working from policies and general directives; rarely refers specific cases to ย ย ย ย ย supervisor unless clarification or interpretation of the organization's policy is required.
  5. PLANNING: Considerable responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner and/or sequence of performance of own work; in addition, the work operations of a group of employees all performing basically the same type of work.
  6. DECISION-MAKING: Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor importance and also frequent opportunity for decision-making of major importance, either of which would affect the work operations of medium organizational component and the organization's clientele.
  7. Must possess experience managing fiduciary funds preferably in a title and settlement business.
  8. High degree of familiarity with real estate settlement statements, property tax prorations, loan fees, title insurance rates and ย ย ย ย ย commission calculations.
  9. Ability to spot errors on a settlement statement and how to quickly verify data accuracy.
  10. Ability to work with escrow officers to resolve issues quickly.
  11. Strong attention to details and good organization skills, customer first mindset

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the Vice President Deposit Services is continuously required to sit or stand, talk or hear; they may use hands to handle or feel and frequently are required to reach with their hands and arms and occasionally walk, climb or balance. They may occasionally lift, move, push or pull up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This is an indoor position and the noise level in the work area is usually moderate. There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this position.ย 


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus specialized schooling and/or on-the-job training in a related skill area; plus 2 years of related experience and/or training in a title, escrow, or settlement environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires experience managing fiduciary funds and a strong working knowledge of real estate settlement statements, property tax prorations, loan fees, title insurance rates, and commission calculations. Must possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to identify and verify data discrepancies while working effectively with escrow officers to resolve issues quickly.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

This position reports directly to the Escrow Officer. The Escrow Manager reports directly to the President of American National Title of Texas, who reports to the CEO of American National Bank & Trust.
