Job description

Remote — Canada or United States

About the role

Our client is a well-established customs brokerage firm with decades of experience supporting cross-border trade between Canada and the United States. They are looking for a true hunter to grow their commercial client base in both markets—someone who knows the customs brokerage world inside and out and enjoys opening doors and closing deals.

This is a home-based role. You'll work remotely while regularly meeting prospects and clients in person throughout your territory. A car allowance is provided to support local travel.

You can be based anywhere in Canada or the U.S., although candidates located near a major port or trade city are preferred. You'll be responsible for driving new revenue by identifying importers, understanding their business needs, and providing customized customs brokerage, duty drawback, and consulting solutions.

Please note: Employment sponsorship is not available for this position. Due to employer registration and compliance requirements, this position is not available to candidates whose primary work location is in the State of California.

Compensation
  • Base salary: Up to approximately $100,000, depending on experience
  • 15% commission on first-year total revenue
  • 5% commission on second-year total revenue
  • Uncapped commission after year two
  • Car allowance
  • Comprehensive benefits package
What you'll do
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close new commercial importer accounts across Canada and the U.S.
  • Build and manage your own sales pipeline through referrals, cold calling, networking, and trade shows.
  • Develop and execute targeted strategies to enter new markets and increase revenue.
  • Negotiate contracts and drive opportunities through to close.
  • Partner with internal subject matter experts to deliver customized customs brokerage, duty drawback, and consulting solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, presentations, opportunities, and follow-ups within HubSpot.
What we're looking for (must-haves)
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian and/or U.S. customs brokerage industry.
  • A true hunter mentality with demonstrated success developing new business.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Located in Canada or the United States, ideally near a major port or trade hub.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Nice to have
  • Experience with HubSpot, Google Workspace, or similar CRM and sales tools.
  • Familiarity with modern sales technologies and reporting tools.
  • Adaptable, positive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel outside the local territory for client meetings and trade shows.
Why join?
  • Fully remote position.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Modern, technology-focused organization.
  • Competitive compensation with significant long-term earning potential through an attractive commission structure.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, RRSP/401(k), tuition reimbursement, and professional development opportunities.
