Job description

Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) โ€“ Contract

Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts

Duration: Contract (Approx. 13 Weeks)


Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive cardiopulmonary care in an acute care hospital setting. The role involves managing ventilator support, performing diagnostic respiratory procedures, responding to emergencies, and supporting multidisciplinary patient care across critical care and inpatient units.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assess acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions
  • Initiate and manage ventilator support and weaning protocols
  • Recommend ventilator settings and apply lung-protective strategies
  • Perform ABGs, sputum collection, spirometry, and capnography
  • Monitor patients during intra-hospital and inter-facility transport
  • Respond to Codes and Rapid Response Teams (RRTs)
  • Assist with intubations, bronchoscopies, and conscious sedation procedures
  • Administer oxygen therapy, Heliox, high-flow oxygen, and aerosolized medications
  • Manage airway care including tracheostomy and suctioning
  • Support neonatal and pediatric respiratory care as needed
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care planning
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation and charge reconciliation
  • Precept and train staff and students as required
  • Ensure equipment readiness, supply management, and compliance standards

Required Qualifications
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License
  • BLS Certification required
  • NRP Certification required
  • Minimum 1 year critical care experience preferred
  • Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in high-acuity hospital environments
