Role: Spine Sales Specialist

Reports to: Spine Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

The Spine Sales Specialist drives sales performance by executing strategic sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed quota and key business objectives for the Arthrex Spine portfolio. This role delivers high-level technical expertise and support to internal teams and external customers. The position is primarily based in the Richmond market, with responsibility for supporting efforts throughout the greater company geography, spanning most of Virginia.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the sales teams and leadership to develop a strong sales strategy that aligns with customer needs
  2. Guide the sales teams on tactics to execute the strategies developed; assist with recommendations of products and methodologies to surgeons
  3. Communicate with the sales team regarding new products, product updates, and promotional activities
  4. Support current spine business by maintaining and growing relationships with current customers
  5. Engage directly with prospective customers and sales teams to build future business and grow new customer relationships
  6. Measure, monitor, and trend sales team performance to assess strategies and ensure success of business results including quota achievement, account education engagement, and inventory management
  7. Cross-sell additional products or manage new product introductions as they become available
  8. Partner with the medical education team to maximize communications and educational opportunities for customers and sales representatives
  9. Participate in activities, including labs, industry meetings, and trade shows, when necessary to help showcase spine products
  10. Identify customer needs and propose creative solutions that align with business objectives and guidelines, including pricing/billing that align with company policies
  11. Respond to the needs of the sales organization via email, phone and field visits.
  12. Collaborate with Managers concerning product positioning strategies and feedback from the field.
  13. Collaborate cross-functionally with Arthrex corporate and internal teams to established objectives


Requirements:
  1. Possess a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience
  2. 1-2 years of demonstrated B2B sales experience (sales of spinal products, preferred)
  3. Successful completion of Orthobiologics Initial Onsite Training prior to or within eight months of start dateSuccessful completion of Spine Initial Onsite Training prior to or within eight months of start date
  4. Successful completion of ECI Sales Training prior to or within 12 months of start date
  5. Possess a valid Driver’s License
  6. Ability to succeed in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  7. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  9. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  10. The Spine Sales Specialist will manage the business ethically and adhere to all applicable hospital guidelines including ADVAMED http://advamed.org/


Work Environment

The Spine Sales Specialist (SSS) is a field-based role requiring extensive driving time travelling to meetings, hospitals and practices to support the team and fulfill daily responsibilities. The SSS actively engages with stakeholders, resolves challenges in real time, and adapts to the dynamic needs of the team, healthcare providers, and the business.


Physical Requirements:

  1. Sitting and Standing for Long Periods: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings, events or labs
  2. Dexterity & Fine Motor Skills: Ability to operate standard office equipment and lab instruments
  3. Visual acuity: Ability to read and interpret documents, spreadsheets, and computer screens
  4. Lifting & Carrying: Frequently lifting or carrying boxes, trays or lab supplies (typically up to 50 pounds)
