Job Description: Part-Time Mobile Beverage Cart Operator - Golf
PAY GROUP: TP 13 - $7.25 per hour + Tips
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Part-Time Mobile Beverage Cart Operator is responsible for providing food and beverage service to golfers throughout the golf course while delivering exceptional customer service. Duties include operating the beverage cart, selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and packaged snack items, maintaining inventory, handling cash and credit card transactions, and ensuring compliance with all applicable Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) regulations.
This is a part-time position which normally works less than 20 hours per week in rotating shifts and is not eligible for City benefits.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Essential Duties*
- Operates beverage cart safely and professionally throughout the golf course;
- Provides courteous and prompt service to golfers and guests;
- Sells and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and approved snack items;
- Verifies customer age and complies with all TABC regulations regarding alcohol sales and service;
- Processes cash, credit card, and electronic payments accurately;
- Stocks and restocks beverages, snacks, ice, and supplies before and during shifts;
- Maintains inventory records and reports shortages or product needs to supervisor;
- Keeps beverage cart clean, organized, sanitary, and presentable at all times;
- Removes trash and maintains cleanliness around service areas;
- Ensures beverages and food products are stored in accordance with health and safety requirements;
- Reconciles cash drawer at end of shift;
- Observes safety rules and procedures;
- Reports customer concerns, equipment issues, accidents, or facility problems to supervisor in a timely manner; and
- Promotes a positive image of Starcke Park Golf Course through professional appearance and customer service.
Other Important Duties*
Performs such other duties as may be required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND, ABILILITIES:ย
Knowledge of: customer service practices; cash handling procedures; beverage inventory control; golf course operations; safe operation of golf carts; and applicable TABC regulations.
Ability to: follow written and oral instructions; communicate effectively with the public and fellow employees; establish and maintain effective working relationships; handle cash and point-of-sale transactions accurately; maintain and promote a positive professional image; work independently with minimal supervision; and work variable shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Physical Ability:ย frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, climb, twist, reach, push, pull, and lift, carry and/or move objects/supplies weighing up to 50 lbs; work outdoors in all weather conditions including hot and cold temperatures and wet conditions.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
One year of customer service, food service, retail, hospitality, or related experience preferred.
Must successfully complete Caf Express cart operator training and testing.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Appropriate Texas Driver's License.
Current Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Seller/Server Certification.
TIP REPORTING:
Employees who receive tips are responsible for maintaining accurate records of all tips received and for reporting such income to the IRS as required by law. Compliance with all tax reporting requirements related to tip income is the responsibility of the employee.
