Job description

Hedis Nurse (Regional Assignments)

Requirements:

  • Must be registered nurse or LPN. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' clinical experience.
  • 3-5 years' chart auditing/abstraction experience which will include 1 year experience with HEDIS for RNs.
  • Flexibility to travel - must have own transportation to area clinics/hospitals as needed.
  • For field nurses, experience scheduling office appointments and traveling to physician offices is preferred.
  • If candidate is an LPN, they must have 2 years of clinical and HEDIS experience. EMR/EHR experience a plus.
  • Must have basic knowledge of how to use a laptop computer and smart phone.

Responsibilities include:

  • Visit physicians' offices to retrieve and review specific requested documentation from medical records.
  • Scan relevant components of the medical record to support reviews performed.
  • Upload all scanned medical records daily.
  • Maintain lines of communication with the assigned clinical lead, project coordinator and project manager.
  • Successfully complete required training, testing and quality assessment.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with office managers, health systems and any other facility or care provider.
  • Schedule and confirm all appointments based on your independent assignment for efficiency.
  • Must be willing to travel, have a reliable means of transportation, valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Abide by all HIPAA and Independence patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Availability of at least 8 hours a day, 5 days per week.
  • Business attire required.
  • This contract is project based employment and is not considered full time permanent employment.

Interviewing immediately, training (paid) is required for ~2 weeks, beginning in January:

  • Jan 7th thru 11th - candidates will expect to be in Philadelphia M-F from 8:30am to 5pm.
  • Jan 15th thru 18th and Jan 25th - training on measures - candidates will expect to be in Philly M-F from 8:30am to 5pm (unless otherwise specified).
