Overview
DecisionPoint seeks an Event Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute high-visibility events in support of a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role manages end-to-end event logistics, develops comprehensive event books, prepares participant biographies, coordinates venue and media details, and ensures seamless operational execution across virtual, in-person, and hybrid formats.
The Event Manager will collaborate with communications, outreach, and technical teams to ensure events effectively support mission goals, stakeholder engagement, and strategic messaging.
This position is fully remote.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Event Manager will:
  • Lead planning and logistics for events, workshops, summits, training sessions, live broadcasts, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Develop detailed event books including run-of-show scripts, biographies, talking points, venue details, media requirements, and support materials.
  • Coordinate participant and speaker logistics including scheduling, briefing packets, travel arrangements, and communications.
  • Manage venue coordination, room layouts, audiovisual requirements, and event support needs.
  • Oversee registration lists, check-in processes, and attendee communications.
  • Maintain event timelines, task trackers, and logistics plans to ensure smooth execution.
  • Collaborate with communications and media teams to integrate branding and messaging into event materials.
  • Prepare post-event reports and insights that support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all event processes adhere to federal accessibility and communications standards.
  • Support contingency planning and real-time issue resolution during events.

Qualifications
Clearance Requirement
Candidate must possess an active Secret clearance or higher.
Education (Required)
BA in Event Management, Communications, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience (Required)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience planning and managing events, conferences, or large-scale organizational engagements.
  • Demonstrated expertise coordinating logistics, communications, and event materials.
  • Experience producing briefing packets, event books, and speaker or participant biographies.

Technical Knowledge (Required)
  • Strong understanding of event logistics, audiovisual coordination, and run-of-show development.
  • Proficiency with event management software, scheduling tools, and communications platforms.
  • Ability to develop event materials that meet federal and accessibility standards.

Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
  • Experience supporting federal or DoD conferences or stakeholder events.
  • Familiarity with hybrid/virtual event platforms and multimedia coordination.
