Job description

No mortgage experience? No problem.

At Mutual of Omaha Mortgage, we hand you warm, inbound leads from customers who are already interested in working with us — no cold calling, no buying your own leads, no guessing your way through it. We invest in your training from day one so you can build a real career in mortgage lending, starting now.

Company Overview

Mutual of Omaha Mortgage is a division of Mutual of Omaha Insurance, built on hometown values and a reputation customers already trust. That trust makes your job easier — when you call, people want to talk. We're a full-service lender offering residential mortgages, refinancing, and specialty loans, backed by an outstanding operations team and pricing that stays competitive in any market.

We operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where everyone strives to be the best — and we invest in your growth every step of the way.

Job Summary

The Junior Mortgage Consultant role is your launchpad into loan origination. You'll work directly alongside experienced Mortgage Analysts, connecting with customers by phone and email, guiding them through basic questions about the loan process, and gathering the information needed to move deals forward. You'll also help drive social media marketing and reach out to past customers to keep relationships warm. This role is designed to grow — many of our Junior Consultants move into full Mortgage Analyst positions as they build experience.

Why Choose Mutual:

  • Inbound Leads, Not Cold Calls — Our Mortgage Analysts work incoming leads from customers already interested in Mutual of Omaha Mortgage. It's the kind of opportunity most sales roles never offer.
  • Coaching From Day One — No mortgage background? No inside sales experience? We provide extensive call coaching so you can build confidence and skill with real support behind you.
  • Love What You Do — Help clients find real financial solutions. Sell from the heart, not with seedy tactics. Go home knowing you made a genuine impact in someone's life.
  • Work/Life Balance — 40 hours a week, Monday–Friday, with flexible scheduling and robust benefits.
  • Awesome Culture — Volunteer events, company outings, and some friendly competition on the ping pong table. Our family-like culture stands out.
  • Room to Grow — Your hard work here creates your next opportunity. Many Junior Consultants advance into Mortgage Analyst and other roles over time.

The Person:

  • You've got previous sales or customer service experience — full-time, part-time, any industry counts
  • Mortgage experience is a plus, but not required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • You're motivated, competitive, and driven to succeed
  • You're a strong communicator who builds relationships easily
  • You're comfortable in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook

The Perks:

  • $17/hour base pay, plus commission on funded and closed loans — Junior Consultants typically earn an additional $500–$2,000 per month in commission on top of base pay, depending on performance
  • 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday — real work/life balance
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with company match, and FSA
  • Real growth opportunities into Mortgage Analyst and other roles

We're growing our office with long-term employees who are building a career, not just taking a job. If that's you, we want to talk.
