Nature of Work
Under general direction of the Engineer Chief, the successful candidate will perform technical and engineering-related work at the administrative/management level in charge of a section of engineering and technical professionals involved in regulating public water and sewer utilities. Duties will include but not be limited to the following: assign formal and informal work to staff members; monitor staff progress on assignments; approve final staff work products; conduct performance reviews in accordance with state policies; monitor staff use of time; address other personnel and staff matters as required; may be responsible for own case load, including high profile cases, in addition to administrative and supervisory tasks; may prepare written testimony and testify in cases; confer with members of other state and federal agencies; provide policy recommendations to the Commission; and perform other duties as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering.
OR
Substitution: Bachelor's degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college or university with a major in Civil, Electrical, Electrical Design, Mechanical, Chemical or Mining Engineering Technology.
AND
Experience: Seven (7) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in engineering.
OR
Substitution: Master's degree in engineering may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
Special Requirement: A valid driver's license is required.
Other Information
Preference may be given to applicants with engineering, technical, and/or operational experience involving water and sewer utilities.
