POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Commercial Services team at Sayari has mastered the use of public data in supply chain screening and investigations and wants to help others do the same. Our Commercial Services team members are first and foremost expert trade compliance analysts. They thrive on tackling tough investigations and uncovering critical risk insights that others might miss. But Commercial Services analysts are also quick thinkers and intuitive communicators, who know how fulfilling (and fun!) it is to share their knowledge with others. At Sayari, Commercial Services analysts ensure that our customers can navigate complex regulatory environments and safely conduct international trade. In this, they unite curiosity, expertise, and a deep appreciation for how our data and tools can drive more effective supply chain screening. Success in this position is measured by the impact on the customer's mission and the growth of engagement within accounts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Become a trusted partner for our commercial customers, helping them leverage Sayari products and expertise to analyze and measure their exposure to various types of global business partner and supply chain risk 
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures while conducting screening and adjudication support, when applicable, on business and supply chain partners
  • Create, deliver, and brief compliance reports and case analysis to commercial stakeholders on their risk
  • Provide timely support to clients as they work  to solve a variety of supply chain issues, from understanding entity level risk to supporting detention response teams
  • Maintain expertise and develop novel approaches to address critical and emerging priorities of Sayari's customers
  • Coordinate with the Revenue team to identify and pursue opportunities to expand Sayari's engagements with commercial customers
  • Provide appropriate feedback to the Product teams as an in-house superuser of Sayari's products
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in conducting supply chain risk screening, trade compliance, export controls, sanctions, or similar analysis/investigations within relevant industries/sectors. Examples of previous successful candidates' experience: compliance officer, intelligence analyst, investigative journalist, customs broker, import/export compliance specialist. Relevant education experience can be counted towards experience.
  • 2-5+ years of experience and a track record of success in customer interactions and/or briefings; equally confident with prepared remarks and extemporaneous discussion and Q&A
  • 1+ year of experience handling AI prompt engineering activities 
  • Very strong writing skills, confident with prepared remarks and extemporaneous discussion and Q&A
  • Familiar with global regulations relevant to Sayari customers (import/export, third-party risk, ESG, sanctions, anti-bribery/anti-corruption, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to share insights in clear, concise, and engaging ways
  • Ability to plan and manage projects independently, ability to learn new subject matter quickly and accurately
  • Ability to complete projects to a high standard on tight deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Professional fluency in one or more priority languages (Chinese, Russian, Spanish, or French)
  • Familiarity with open source investigative techniques and/or tools like LexisNexis and databases like PACER


The target base salary for this position is $120,000-$130,000 plus variable bonus and equity. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, candidate experience and expertise, internal peer equity, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
