Job description

Position Summary 

The role of the Learning Specialist develops, organizes, and deliver training and learning content, and conduct associated follow-up activity.  

Essential Job Duties 

  • Prepare and conduct trainings based upon needs of AMIkids, programs, and stakeholders, 

  • Plan, manage and facilitate learning courses in both live and virtual settings,
  • Collaborate and consult with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop effective training solutions,
  • Organize training events; prepare training agendas, schedules, and perform training related administrative tasks,
  • Assist with managing registration for training events,
  • Provide training documentation to attendees and Programs at the completion of trainings,
  • Ensure adult learning principles are integrated into all learning content,
  • Create and evaluate written and practical examinations to gauge trainee’s knowledge and abilities,
  • Assess and evaluate training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into participant work behavior,
  • Research and maintain appropriate training materials, equipment and resources,
  • Implement effective remedial training programs as required,
  • Maintain accurate records of training events, certifications and curriculum-based classes,
  • Effectively communicate (verbally and non-verbally) and use active listening skills,
  • Write reports as required within established timelines,
  • Develop training documents and materials using computer-based software,
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to increase role effectiveness,
  • Practice effective organization, time management, and project management skills to ensure practical and efficient direction of services,
  • Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality and develop strong working relationships with internal and external parties,
  • Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as defined by state and contract requirements,
  • Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization, 
  • Drive program’s vehicles as required in accordance with AMIkids transportation guidelines,
  • Assist and coordinate with special projects and events as assigned.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university,
  • One-year training and development experience required,
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office programs,
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
