Job description

Join the Gateway Classic Cars Team

At Gateway Classic Cars, we help automotive enthusiasts buy and sell the collector vehicles they've always dreamed of owning. As the world's largest classic car sales company, our showrooms are home to thousands of classic, muscle, exotic, and specialty vehicles. Every day brings something different, and every vehicle has a story.

We're looking for a Classic Car Sales Representative who enjoys building relationships, helping customers, and creating an exceptional buying and selling experience. If you're motivated by people, enjoy sales, and like the idea of working around incredible collector vehicles every day, we'd love to meet you.

Whether your background is in automotive sales, powersports, RV sales, boat sales, luxury retail, business development, or commission sales, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

About the Role

This isn't your typical dealership sales position.

At Gateway, you'll work with buyers and sellers from across the country who share a passion for collector vehicles. One conversation may involve helping someone sell a classic car they've owned for decades. The next may be helping a buyer find the vehicle they've been searching for their entire life.

You'll build relationships, research vehicle values, inspect incoming consignments, manage customer communication, and guide buyers and sellers through every step of the process. Your goal isn't simply to make a sale. It's to provide an experience that customers remember.

What You'll Do

Build Relationships

  • Follow up with sales leads and build lasting customer relationships.
  • Guide buyers through the purchasing process.
  • Provide outstanding customer service throughout every interaction.
  • Help customers arrange financing and vehicle transportation when needed.

Represent Collector Vehicles

  • Perform condition inspections on incoming vehicles.
  • Research market values and assist consignors with pricing recommendations.
  • Write detailed vehicle descriptions that accurately showcase each vehicle.
  • Present vehicles professionally while helping customers understand their unique history and features.

Manage the Sales Process

  • Track customer activity and opportunities using our CRM system.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and documentation.
  • Keep the showroom organized and presentation ready.
  • Work closely with the entire showroom team to create an outstanding customer experience.

Be Part of the Team

  • Support showroom events, including Caffeine and Chrome and community car shows.
  • Assist coworkers whenever needed to help the showroom succeed.
  • Occasionally provide training or support to other Gateway showrooms.

What We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Enjoy talking with people and building relationships.
  • Earn trust through honesty and professionalism.
  • Like helping customers find solutions instead of simply making a sale.
  • Stay organized while managing multiple customers and opportunities.
  • Communicate confidently both in person and over the phone.
  • Enjoy learning about collector vehicles and sharing that knowledge with others.
  • Take pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous sales or customer service experience required.
  • Automotive sales, commission sales, business development, or relationship-based sales experience preferred.
  • Basic automotive knowledge required. Experience with collector vehicles is a plus, but a willingness to learn is just as important.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Experience using a CRM system is preferred.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Work around incredible collector vehicles every day.
  • Build relationships with automotive enthusiasts across the country.
  • Join an established company that continues to grow nationwide.
  • Every day brings different vehicles, different customers, and new opportunities.
  • Be part of a supportive team that works together to achieve success.
  • Unlimited earning potential through a commission-based compensation plan.

Compensation

This is a commission-based position with earning potential of $50,000 to $90,000+ annually.

Actual earnings are based on showroom performance and results.

Benefits

  • Medical Insurance
  • HSA Qualified Medical Plan
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Basic Life and AD&D Insurance
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
  • Paid Holidays
  • Paid Vacation
  • Paid Sick Time
  • Paid Birthday
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Paid Training

If you're looking for more than just another sales job and want to help people buy and sell some of the most unique collector vehicles in the world, we'd love to hear from you.
