Job description

At Bessemer Trust, storytelling is at the heart of how we share our expertise and culture. The Content Writer will join our Content team, a collaborative group within the Corporate Strategy and Communications department, reporting to the Senior Editorial Director. The Content team is responsible for conveying who we are and what we do, shaping and elevating the firm's voice.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and other subject-matter experts across the firm to bring these stories to life across a range of channels. If you are a writer who thrives at the intersection of financial storytelling, digital strategy, and brand building, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality content that resonates with Bessemer's key audiences across investment management, wealth planning, and family office topics. This includes writing and editing thought leadership, financial education, corporate communications, and capabilities content.
  • Craft messaging for print, online, and event formats - with an emphasis on digital platforms - to maximize engagement across web, email, social media, and other channels.
  • Understand Bessemer's broad and deep capabilities and unique culture, bringing key messages and insights to life in a voice that is on-brand, compliant, and suited for deliverables that include articles, videos, presentations, speeches, invitations, brochures, letters, emails, and social media posts.
  • Enhance storytelling with visuals where appropriate, incorporating charts, graphics, and infographics to support and strengthen the narrative.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management and stakeholders across Bessemer Trust to ensure all content meets the highest standards and aligns with strategic messaging.
  • Assist in the development of a thoughtful publication calendar that supports Bessemer's broader communication strategy.
  • Participate in the team's strategic planning discussions and support special projects as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Five to eight years of writing experience. Candidates with fewer years but exceptional writing skills will be considered.
  • Familiarity with investment and wealth management topics, with experience writing for institutional or high-net-worth audiences a plus.
  • Ability to research topics and interview senior thought leaders across the firm to surface insights.
  • Adept at writing and storytelling for digital platforms, with a passion for creating copy that informs, engages, and inspires audiences.
  • Experienced in optimizing copy across digital channels - including applying SEO keywords and developing compelling subject lines and impactful headlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to internal partners.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, combined with a thoughtful approach to incorporating stakeholder feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.

Applications must include a cover letter and writing samples.
