Job description

Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Dean of Nursing on the Melbourne Campus in Melbourne, Florida.

Salary & Benefit

The salary is competitive and considers credentials and experience. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.

Position Concept

The Dean of Nursing is responsible for leading, developing and implementing the College’s nursing programs. This position provides administrative oversight and stewarding of annual grants/gifts. The Dean is responsible for establishing and maintaining community outreach with regional healthcare leaders and organizations. The Dean reports directly to the AVP for Academic Affairs to support and promote the quality of student learning and success.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in nursing field (Doctorate or equivalent preferred).
  • Must hold a current/active RN license.
  • A minimum of three-years teaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required.
  • A review of Social Media activity will be part of the candidate evaluation process.
  • This position will require successful fingerprinting and substance screening. The candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fees (currently $36.00/$65.15). The fingerprinting and substance screening fees ($36.005/$65.15) are non-refundable.

Minimum Physical Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to access, input and retrieve information and/or data from a computer.
  • Ability to work in an office environment and travel between campuses and clinical sites.
