What is commission diamond jewelry?

Commission diamond jewelry refers to custom-made pieces that are created based on a client's specific requests and preferences. Instead of purchasing ready-made jewelry, customers work with jewelers or designers to choose the diamond, metal, setting, and style, resulting in a unique, personalized item. This process allows for greater creative input and ensures the final piece matches the client's vision. Commissioning diamond jewelry is often chosen for special occasions such as engagements, weddings, or anniversaries.

What are some common challenges faced when working as a commission diamond jewelry salesperson?

One of the main challenges in commission diamond jewelry sales is building and maintaining a steady client base, as success relies heavily on relationships and trust. Sales cycles can be unpredictable, with periods of high activity around holidays and slower months in between, which can affect commission-based earnings. Additionally, staying updated on diamond grading standards and trends is essential to confidently educate clients and close sales. Collaboration with gemologists and designers is also common, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills to ensure clients receive the best possible experience.

Job description

Luxury Jewelry Sales Associate - Scottsdale Fine Jewelers
Fine Jewelry | Diamonds | Engagement Rings | Luxury Watches | Scottsdale, AZ
Scottsdale Fine Jewelers is hiring an experienced Luxury Jewelry Sales Associate to join our newly renovated showroom in Scottsdale, Arizona.
This is a high-touch, relationship-driven sales position for someone who understands that luxury sales is not about pressure - it is about trust, taste, follow-through, product knowledge, and creating a client experience people remember.
If you have experience selling fine jewelry, diamonds, engagement rings, bridal jewelry, luxury watches, designer jewelry, high-end retail, luxury fashion, or other premium products, this could be an exceptional opportunity to join a polished, professional team in one of Scottsdale's most attractive luxury retail environments.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This is not a mall retail job with late nights, inconsistent hours, and unclear earning potential.
At Scottsdale Fine Jewelers, you'll work in a beautiful luxury showroom with a professional team, established clientele, and a schedule that allows you to have a life outside of retail.
We offer:
  • Base pay of $1,000 per week
  • Bonuses, commissions, and additional weekly incentives
  • Excellent schedule: Tuesday through Saturday
  • Always finished by approximately 5:15 PM
  • Gold-level health insurance for under $26 per week
  • A beautiful, newly renovated Scottsdale showroom
  • A professional, supportive team environment
  • The opportunity to work with fine jewelry, bridal jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, and luxury timepieces
  • A clientele that values quality, craftsmanship, and personal service

What You'll Do
As a Luxury Jewelry Sales Associate, you will help clients celebrate life's most meaningful occasions while building long-term relationships that lead to repeat business, referrals, and lasting trust.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting clients with fine jewelry, diamond jewelry, engagement rings, wedding bands, anniversary gifts, custom jewelry, and luxury watches
  • Delivering a polished, consultative, service-focused sales experience
  • Building strong client relationships through follow-up, clienteling, thank-you communication, and personal attention
  • Learning client preferences and helping them select pieces that fit their style, occasion, and budget
  • Supporting showroom presentation, merchandising standards, and a luxury retail environment
  • Partnering with teammates, managers, goldsmiths, and support staff to provide an excellent client experience
  • Maintaining professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail with every client interaction

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is polished, confident, trustworthy, and motivated by both sales results and client relationships.
Preferred experience includes one or more of the following:
  • Fine jewelry sales
  • Diamond sales
  • Engagement ring or bridal jewelry sales
  • Luxury watch sales
  • Designer jewelry sales
  • Luxury retail sales
  • High-end fashion, handbags, accessories, cosmetics, furniture, art, automobiles, hospitality, or other premium client-facing sales experience
  • Clienteling or relationship-based sales
  • Experience working with affluent or high-net-worth clients

You should be comfortable with:
  • Building trust quickly
  • Asking thoughtful questions
  • Following up consistently
  • Presenting premium products with confidence
  • Working as part of a team
  • Maintaining a polished, professional appearance
  • Learning product details and communicating value clearly
  • Handling high-value merchandise with care and accuracy

Who Thrives Here
You may be a great fit if you:
  • Love beautiful jewelry, watches, design, fashion, or craftsmanship
  • Enjoy helping clients celebrate engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, milestones, and personal achievements
  • Take pride in being professional, prepared, and detail-oriented
  • Prefer relationship selling over transactional selling
  • Want strong earning potential without late retail nights
  • Are looking for a long-term home with a respected luxury jewelry business

Compensation & Benefits
  • $1,000 per week base pay
  • Commissions, bonuses, and weekly incentives
  • Gold-level health insurance for under $26 per week
  • Tuesday-Saturday schedule
  • Finished by approximately 5:15 PM
  • Professional luxury showroom environment
  • Supportive team culture
  • Opportunity for long-term growth in fine jewelry and luxury retail

Schedule
This position works Tuesday through Saturday.
We are closed Sunday and Monday, and the team is typically finished by approximately 5:15 PM.
