Job Summary
The Deli Commissary Associate is responsible for preparing, packaging, and labeling deli and specialty food items in a commissary (central kitchen/production facility) setting. This role plays a critical part in producing high-quality, ready-to-eat products that are distributed to our 18 retail store locations. The associate must ensure that all items meet company standards for quality, consistency, and food safety, while maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Prepare deli items such as sandwiches, salads, sides, and entrees according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines
  • Produce and assemble a variety of specialty items unique to the Sendik's brand, ensuring consistency and quality across all 18 store locations.
  • Slicing meats and cheeses using the deli slicer
  • Weigh, package, price and label Deli items
  • Assist with maintaining the back cooler including; rotating stock, dating and cleaning
  • Maintain sanitation and temperature logs as needed
  • Operate, maintain and clean deli equipment including knives, ovens, fryers, dishwashers, coolers and slicers
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily and weekly production goals and deadlines.
  • Assist with all other Deli Department duties as needed

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age due to required operation of Deli equipment
