COMMERCIAL ROOF MECHANIC

Position Identification:
Non-Exempt
Reports to:  Crew Manager 
 
Position Summary:
 
To provide safe and efficient installation and/or repair of roofs, roofing material, and other material used in projects identified by TMR Roofing.
   
Job Functions:
 
  • Observes all safety rules, including proper usage of PPE. 
  • Learn types of roofing material to repair, maintain, and install roofs and accessories.
  • Can learn to complete all tasks associated with one or more roofing systems, including PVC, TPO, EPDM, MOD BIT, BUR, and asphalt. 
  • Works under general supervision, receiving assignments in the form of work orders, inspection reports, or verbal instructions.  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  • Must be able to have transportation to our jobsites. 
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
 
  • Must be skilled in the safe and economical use of the full range of tools, equipment, and materials needed for the accomplishment of the assigned work
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of construction experience
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):
 
  • Two or more years roofing experience
  • Knowledge of construction industry
  • Able to read drawings, sketches, and diagrams as required

  • Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to squat, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, climb ladder, bend, kneel, type, and talk or hear
  • The employee is also required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
 
Working Conditions:
 
Physical surroundings:  Field environment with exposure to heights, noise and temperature.
Physical Effort:  Extensive standing, walking, climbing ladders.   Frequent lifting not to exceed 50 pounds 
Travel: Occasional 
Hours:  Subject to overtime
