Middle Market - NY

We are currently looking for a seasoned Middle Market COMMERCIAL LENDER to join our Commercial Middle Market Banking team. In this position you will generate new and grow existing business relationships with companies ranging in sales size from $30MM - $750MM in sales.  The Sr. Commercial Relationship Officer is, responsible for working with Credit and the Portfolio teams to ensure the credit quality and on-going monitoring of the portfolio while rendering quality service in accordance with bank goals to attain growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
 

In this position, you will:
  • Be responsible for developing a commercial customer portfolio and managing customer relationships with an emphasis on generating deposits and cross sell as well as loans.
  • Visit with clients and prospective clients regularly, interview and analyze the financial structure of customers and prospects and recommend products or applicable services.
  • Compile loan package, financial proposals, and facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicant and submitting proposals to Credit for approval.
  • Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan.  Correspond with customers throughout the loan process and serve as liaison between customer and the credit team to resolve questions regarding the application information.
  • Work with counsel to negotiate Loan Documents.
  • Review and analyze commercial loan reports, direct liability, non-performing, new loans, and payment.  Assure timely loan closing and funding activities.
  • Build effective relationships and trust with clients and potential clients by listening to and uncovering their needs and educating them about the bank products and services that are most appropriate for their situation.  
  • Working closely with product partners to deliver ancillary products to customers
     
To be considered, you will need:
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial credit with an established portfolio of Commercial customers. Formal credit training strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Commercial Banking Products and Services
  • Strong in-market network of prospects and COIs
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Strong business development skills
  • Strong sales and process management skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
     
Base Salary & Benefits

 Our base salary for this position located in New York City generally ranges between  $195,000.00 and $215,000.00  annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.

In addition to salary, Popular's well-rounded benefits package for regular full-time and part-time employees includes a comprehensive health plan, flexible time off options, and savings and investment plans. Seasonal/temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.
