This Position reports to:

Head of Real Estate, Automation

As Global Real Estate Controller, you will lead financial governance, planning, reporting, analytics and business partnering across ABB's global real estate portfolio. You will act as the finance subject matter expert for real estate, enabling accurate reporting, effective capital allocation, strong controls and data-driven decisions.

The role reports to the Business Area Real Estate Manager, Automation, and works closely with Real Estate leadership, Corporate Controlling and FP&A, and real estate teams worldwide.

The work model is hybrid, with preferred locations close to ABB's main facilities.


You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Finance leadership and business partnering: advise Real Estate leadership and senior stakeholders on financial performance, investments, portfolio decisions, lease-versus-buy evaluations and strategic initiatives.

  • Financial planning, reporting and performance management: lead global planning, forecasting and reporting for the Real Estate Division; review performance, risks and opportunities; and support assurance and management reporting.

  • Capital expenditure and occupancy costs: govern capex planning and reporting, maintain allocation methodologies and improve transparency of occupancy cost reporting and benchmarking.

  • Center of Excellence: lead the Real Estate Finance and Data Management Center of Excellence, standardizing processes, controls, reporting models and service delivery.

  • Data, digitalization and ESG: strengthen data quality, dashboards, KPIs and analytics, support digital transformation and contribute to accurate ESG-related reporting.

  • Strategic transactions: provide real estate finance expertise for acquisitions, divestments, integrations, carve-outs, restructuring and portfolio optimization.

  • Leadership and collaboration: lead and develop a global team, build strong stakeholder relationships, promote best practice sharing and champion ABB's values of Courage, Care, Curiosity and Collaboration.


Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance leadership, controlling, FP&A or related disciplines.

  • Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, performance management and business partnering.

  • Proven ability to lead global, cross-functional teams and manage senior stakeholders.

  • Experience in capital-intensive businesses and complex global organizations; real estate finance, lease accounting or asset/facility management finance experience preferred.

  • Advanced analytical skills and experience with SAP, Power BI, data analytics and enterprise reporting tools.

  • Track record of driving process improvement, standardization and automation.

  • Fluent in English.
