JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Commercial Lines Account Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for our clients. This position is responsible for supporting the sales team with the evaluation and management of commercial accounts and providing quality service to our clients. The Commercial Lines Account Manager position requires a combination of strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This position provides a fantastic opportunity for growth and the ability to impact the direction of the company through changes in processes and procedures, efficiencies, and strategic initiatives.ย 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through advising and responding to all correspondence in a quick and accurate mannerย 
    • Includes answering questions regarding all lines of coverage, and assisting with plan and/or carrier changes, claims, and billingย 
  • Service commercial lines accounts as assigned in accordance with company policies, procedures, and service standardsย 
  • Collaborate with Risk Advisors and Commercial Processing team to determine and meet client goalsย 
  • Support Risk Advisors by exercising independent judgment and discretion to:ย 
    • Analyze markets for competitive pricing and develop insurance solutions for current clients
    • Review carrier quotes, look for gaps in coverage, prepare proposals, and maintain client applications
    • Communicate and educate clients on policies as neededย 
    • Receive and process new business, renewals, and cancellationsย 
  • Ensure maximum client retention and generation through relationship building
  • Manage large volumes of account support items regularly
  • Schedule, attend, and participate in commercial lines meetings, trainings, and classesย 
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with partner insurance carriersย 
  • Promote value-added services available through North Risk Partners (i.e., professional counseling, webinars/seminars, communications, tools, and more)
  • Strive to return phone calls, messages, and emails on the same business dayย 
  • Enter activity and other relevant information accurately into the company's software system(s) in accordance with company proceduresย 
  • Follow all federal and state regulations, and best practices for avoiding errors and omissionsย 
  • Continue professional development; obtain and maintain licensing and designations
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices

Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • A combination of education and experience generally attained through a high school degree, bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 3 years in the commercial insurance service
  • Active property & casualty insurance license, or willing to obtain one
  • Excellent oral and written communication skillsย 
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, demonstrating ability to prioritize tasks effectivelyย 
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to identify problems and lead by exampleย 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentย 
  • Knowledge of AMS360 and ImageRight are a plus, but not requiredย 
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suiteย

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Perform under normal office conditions; may include lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds

  • Hear, speak, and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions to communicate with people inside and outside of the organization
  • Sit and a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work sitting at a computer
  • Move around office/building/facilities repeatedly throughout the day
  • Apply manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability, for computer keyboarding, office equipment uses, review of detailed reports, information, fine print, and warning labels
  • Must possess valid driver's license and be able to travel to different North Risk Partners locations for meetings, as well as various locations throughout the state and potentially the region for client meetings
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, nights, and weekends to attend events and meetings as needed

Incumbents must be able to use telephones, calculators, copy machines, computers, printers, and other office equipment

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSย 

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 - $75,000 annually, plus benefits. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. ย
