The Opportunity

A highly respected, regional law firm is seeking a driven Commercial Litigation Associate to join its premier dispute resolution practice in Raleigh. This position offers an exceptional career runway for an ambitious attorney to handle sophisticated, high-stakes business disputes while working alongside acclaimed trial advocates in a collaborative, professional environment.


Core Responsibilities

  • Case Strategy & Management: Direct the lifecycle of complex business disputes, evaluating claims and executing comprehensive defense and prosecution strategies.
  • Legal Writing & Motion Practice: Draft pleadings, administrative appeals, comprehensive summary judgment motions, and critical appellate briefs.
  • Discovery & Depositions: Conduct adversarial depositions of key witnesses, fact witnesses, and corporate representatives; oversee complex e-discovery productions.
  • Courtroom Advocacy: Argue substantive motions in North Carolina state and federal courts, including the North Carolina Business Court.
  • Trial & Arbitration Preparation: Take a primary role in trial preparation, witness vetting, exhibit management, and second-chairing complex civil trials.
  • Client Advisory: Partner directly with corporate executives, institutional clients, and business stakeholders to deliver risk assessments and strategic counsel.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of dedicated Commercial Litigation experience within a mid-size or large law firm setting.
