About AfterQueryAfterQuery

is an applied research lab curating data solutions for foundation model development. We serve every frontier AI lab with the mission of delivering the best data to power the best models. In doing so, we can make expertise that once took a lifetime to build available to anyone who needs it. Our customers are the ones building the foundation models themselves and our work sits directly in the loop of how those systems improve. This is a rare opportunity to join a company at a defining moment in AI. Since raising our $30M Series A at a $300M valuation, AfterQuery has grown well over a $100M revenue run rate. We're based in San Francisco and backed by leading investors including Altos Ventures, BoxGroup, and Y Combinator and angels from Google DeepMind, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta Superintelligence Labs, and Microsoft AI.

Why ApplyMassive Opportunity:

We were one of the fastest-growing YC companies in our batch, and we believe we can become one of the fastest-growing YC companies of all time.

Equity & Growth:
  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity.

As we scale, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to shape the engineering organization and lead major technical initiatives.

Strong Team:

Our founding team has experience from Citadel Securities, Meta, Google, Silver Lake, and Morgan Stanley โ€” work alongside world-class engineers and researchers.

Overview

This person will act as the main relationship owner for AfterQuery's most important frontier AI lab customers, focused on renewals, expansion, and lasting partnerships rather than one-off deals. They'll pursue new revenue within existing accounts, run senior-level touchpoints like quarterly reviews and contract negotiations, and feed customer input back into product and engineering decisions. As one of the company's first hires dedicated to this function, they'll also be building the account management and customer health processes from scratch while helping shape how AfterQuery approaches customer relationships going forward.

Responsibilities
  • Own and grow strategic accounts: Serve as the primary point of contact for key frontier AI labs, driving retention, expansion, and long-term partnerships.
  • Drive revenue growth: Identify and close upsell, cross-sell, and new use-case opportunities across existing customers.
  • Lead executive relationships: Run business reviews, strategic check-ins, and commercial negotiations, including master services agreements.
  • Champion the voice of the customer: Partner closely with operations, product, and engineering to ensure customer needs are met and feedback shapes our roadmap.
  • Build the customer engagement function: Create account management, customer health, and expansion playbooks from the ground up as one of AfterQueryโ€™s first dedicated customer engagement managers.
  • Operate as an early company builder: Drive cross-functional initiatives and help define how AfterQuery engages with customers as we scale.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ YOE in a relevant role โ€” strong candidates often come directly from account management roles at data companies or engagement management roles in other industries.
  • High agency, drive, and a strong work ethic; thrive in ambiguity and execute with minimal direction
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to hold the room with senior AI researchers and technology industry executives.
  • Competitive nature and demonstrated past success
