Job description

Painter II performs engineering duties in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. This person is knowledgeable in all areas of interior and exterior painting and wall coverings. applying as well as removal. Other work will include a variety of different tasks requiring knowledge in general building maintenance. ceiling tile replacement, sheet rock patching, furniture moving, routine test and light bulb change outs.

High School Diploma or GED
Experience
One year of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
Qualifications
1-year commercial carpentry or painter experience required. Commercial building maintenance experience preferred but not required.
Read ? Ability to read safety rules instructions in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment, ability to read and interpret written instructions (Work Orders)
Speak ? Ability to speak clearly and distinctly primarily to convey problems and work status to others.
Write ? Ability to summarize work progress in work order form, write for content more important than grammatical correctness.
Area of Responsibilities
Maintains color charts for the different facilities.
Maintains inventory of supplies that are needed to paint and patch areas in need of repairs.
Maintains their tools and equipment in a safe operating condition.
Performs interior and exterior painting, including simple wall repairs, finishing and wallpapering where required.
Tours facilities routinely to inspect for painting, patching and carpentry repairs and create corrective work orders to have these items repaired.
Annual Hospital Wide & Legal Compliance In-service
Completes daily assignments of Preventive and Corrective work orders in a timely manner.
Complies with standards set forth by regulatory agencies. Maintains necessary records for inspections. (Fire alarm testing and inspections, emergency power & medical gas and vacuum systems are inspected and tested)
Documentation is in compliance with hospital policy/procedure and other regulatory agency requirements.
Employee is required to assess each job and use the proper Personal Protective Equipment while performing related job functions. Employees must realize that each job function and work area may require different PPE. Employee should check with supervisor before performing any work if they are not sure of needed PPE.
My be required to take ?Call? or be responsible for carrying a pager after normal working hours.
Participates in continuing education as mandated per department and system policy: Safety and Security Plan, Hazardous Materials and Waste Plan, Fire Safety Plan, Medical Equipment Plan and Utilities Plan.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required to assist others in department outside normal duties.
Required to carry a pager and PDA while on duty, and be able to respond to all calls immediately.
Compliance Statement
Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
