Job description

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Onsite Audio-Visual Service Technician to join our team at American Sound and Electronics in Charleston, with an initial focus on supporting AV systems installation in a hospital environment and later expanding to installations at schools, corporate offices, and entertainment venues. This role involves ensuring the reliable setup, maintenance, and operation of audio-visual equipment across varied environments. If you enjoy working hands-on with cutting-edge technology to enhance user experience in high-demand settings, this position offers a unique and rewarding opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and longevity of AV equipment
  • Assist in the installation and setup audio and video equipment within hospital environments, transitioning to schools, corporate offices, and entertainment venues
  • Ensure the seamless functionality of AV systems, including sound systems, projectors, and video displays, in each client setting
  • Maintain an organized inventory of AV equipment and supplies to support efficient installations
  • Test and calibrate equipment to ensure smooth and professional-quality operation in each environment
Job Requirements:
  • Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an AV Technician
  • Working knowledge of Commercial Audio-Visual Systems
  • CTS certification preferred
  • Familiarity with IP Video amp; Voice systems preferred
  • Experience with Cat6 and AV cabling preferred
  • Experience with Audio-Visual Control Systems (AVCS) preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematic drawings
Job Details and Compensation:
  • Pay- $30-32/hr with potential bonus at year end
  • Shift Time and Days- 8am-4:30pm, M-F
  • Company vehicle provided
