ABOUT THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART
Opening in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is dedicated to illustrated storytelling.ย  Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum's collection features works by artists including Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, Jessie Willcox Smith, N. C. Wyeth, Beatrix Potter, Judith F. Baca, Frida Kahlo, and Maxfield Parrish; as well as comic art legends such as Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Frank Frazetta, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, and R. Crumb; and photographers Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Dorothea Lange. The Museum also houses the Lucas Archives, containing models, props, concept art, and costumes from Lucas's filmmaking career.ย

Designed by Ma Yansong of MAD with a landscape by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA, the Museum is in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, on an 11-acre campus that includes new green space and a 300,000-square-foot building with galleries, two theaters, a library, restaurant, cafe, retail store, and community spaces.ย 
POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Warehouse, the Supervisor,ย Warehouseย Operations leadsย inbound and outboundย distribution activities to ensure merchandise is received, processed, and routed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with operational timelines. This roleย is responsible forย overseeing inbound workflow, supervising warehouse associates, and supporting inventory accuracy and productivity standards within a fast-paced distribution environment.ย ย 

The Supervisor helps drive operational excellence byย maintainingย service levels, resolving receiving issues, and fostering a safe, organized, and high-performingย teamย culture

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee daily inbound and outbound warehouse operations including;ย receiving, put-away, replenishment, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, and inventory processing to ensureย timelyย andย accurateย movement of merchandiseย ย 

  • Coordinate dock operations, carrier appointments, shipment scheduling, and workflow prioritization toย maintainย operational efficiency and minimize delaysย ย 

  • Ensure all inventory and shipment transactions are accurately processed within warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanning systems, and related operational platformsย ย 

  • Monitor operational performance metrics including productivity, order accuracy, receiving accuracy, throughput, dockย utilization, fulfillment speed, and inventory integrity to drive performance and continuous improvementย ย 

  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, receiving issues, inventory variances, damaged merchandise, transportation delays, and operational bottlenecks inย a timelyย and solutions-oriented mannerย ย 

  • Safelyย operateย company vehicles and transport merchandise between warehouse, retail, and offsite locations.ย ย 

  • Plan delivery routes, communicate updates, andย maintainย required vehicle inspections and documentation.ย 

  • Direct warehouseย associatesย meet operational priorities, volume demands, and service levels whileย maintainingย productivityย 

  • Train, coach, and support warehouse associates and temporary staff through ongoing leadership, onboarding, and operational guidance to promote accountability and consistent executionย ย 

  • Partner cross-functionally with Inventory Control, Transportation, Customer Service, and other distribution teams to resolve operational challenges and support business objectivesย ย 

  • Support and enforce compliance with company policies, operational procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of accountability and safe work practicesย ย 

  • Identifyย opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, laborย utilization, operational execution, and overall warehouse performance through process improvements and best practicesย ย 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse environment by reinforcing housekeeping standards, proper equipmentย use, and adherence to safety protocolsย ย 

  • Communicate operational priorities, performance expectations, and workflow updates clearly across shifts and teams toย maintainย alignment and execution consistency

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ย years of warehouse,ย orย distribution, operations experienceย ย 

  • Previousย leadership or supervisory experience preferredย but notย requiredย 

  • Knowledge of receiving processes, inventory management, warehouse systems, and dock operationsย ย 

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required

  • Working knowledge of safe driving practices and transportation compliance requirementsย 

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving,ย and decision-making skillsย ย 

  • Effective leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop teamsย ย 

  • Ability to prioritize multiple operational demands and meet productivity and service expectationsย ย 

  • Experience in a high-volume fulfillment, retail distribution, orย logisticsย environment preferredย ย 

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking tools preferredย 

  • Knowledge of EHS, OSHA, and warehouse safety practices, including incident prevention, safe equipment use, and compliance with workplace safety standards preferredย

WORK ENVIRONMENTย 

  • This role is performed primarily in a public-facing museum retail environment with frequent interaction with visitors, staff, vendors, and other museum departments.ย 

  • The retail space may be active and fast-paced, particularly during weekends, holidays, exhibitions, programs, andย special events.ย 

  • May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.ย 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSย 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during scheduled shifts.ย 

  • Ability to lift, carry, unpack, and restock merchandise up toย 30 pounds,ย including shipment boxes, inventory, retail fixtures, displays, point-of-sale equipment, and other store supplies.ย 

  • Ability to bend, reach, climb step stools as needed, and perform repetitive motions associated with POS operation, packaging, tagging, and merchandising.ย
