Job description

COMEDY WRITER | SHORT FORM (EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)

This is a Contracted position in the field of Film / Motion Picture Production, located in Los Angeles, CA.

The position pays $300.00 — $500.00 per day.

The employer is Zachary Roozen.

I am looking to source a comedy writer for an actor looking to grow short‑form presence on Instagram and TikTok. This is not for a one‑off script. I am looking for someone who can help develop a steady stream of original, situational comedy content from the ground up. The tone is grounded, character‑driven, and built around real‑life social dynamics such as awkwardness, overthinking, masculinity, Gen Z culture, perception, etc. Not stand‑up, but rather easy lift, repeatable, and situational comedy based around personality. Think along the lines of creators like Manon Mathews or Hallie Batchelder —but from a male perspective. Sharp, specific, and rooted in behavior, not just punchlines. What I need is someone who understands short‑form comedy at a high level. I need someone who can take a simple premise and elevate it. Someone who knows how to write for performance, not just words on a page. The goal is to create content that feels real, hits quickly, and actually stands out. This is a paid position.

You should have real experience writing comedy: whether that’s sketch, stand‑up, digital content, or anything similar. I’m not looking for generic content writers or people who rely on surface‑level jokes. I want someone who can lock into my voice, understand rhythm, and sharpen. If you reach out, include samples of your work. Even better if you’ve written or created short‑form content yourself. If this is a fit, we’ll start with a paid test assignment and go from there. Looking for someone who wants to actually build something, not just complete tasks.
