About the Role
American Eagle Outfitters' Aerie brand is seeking a detail-oriented Freelance Assistant Color & Print Technologist to support the seasonal color and print approval process. This role will help ensure color consistency and adherence to established standards across Aerie's mills, vendors, and manufacturing partners while providing designers with the tools and resources needed to bring color inspiration to life.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the inventory, filing, ordering, and distribution of seasonal color standards and design tools.
• Create and distribute digital seasonal color palettes to internal partners and external suppliers.
• Maintain accurate databases for seasonal color standards, thread approvals, lab dips, trims, prints, and bulk submissions.
• Coordinate the distribution of seasonal color palettes to thread suppliers for product development.
• Review lab dips, prints, trims, and color submissions; document comments and required corrective actions.
• Pull body color approvals for trims and collaborate with Design as needed.
• Maintain organized historical records and archives of lab dips, trims, prints, and bulk approvals.
• Support additional color, print, and product development projects as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Color Technology, Textiles, Apparel, or a related discipline preferred.
• Ability to pass the Munsell Color Test with Superior Discrimination.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Comfort collaborating across Design, Product Development, vendors, mills, and suppliers.
• Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
