The Colormatch Lab Technician is responsible for providing color matches and color proof support to our customers; as well as provide color support for national projects. Apply color theory and digital color principles using various lab equipment, SAP, Outlook, Excel, and color software/hardware to yield proficient color matching and proofing to meet customer request.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Create and reproduce high-quality Color Match and proofs for all incoming requests for supporting geographical region and national new business projects.
  • Format and create customer presentations in accordance to established strict specification tolerances.
  • Performs standard color proofs to ensure compliance to customer and internal specifications, uses various proofing equipment across multiple applications, color software/hardware, color data transmission and submits proof results.
  • Provide accurate formulae for both local and feeder sites in a digital shared file.
  • Accurate real time accounting of and reporting of color match data through designated software.
  • Complete and accurate data entry reporting of all project activities daily through designated software.
  • Use appropriate colorants, finished ink systems, additives, special effect metallic, pearlescent, optical brighteners, vehicles and extenders.
  • Use of various substrates for color matching and proofs.
  • Maintains lab and equipment in the highest standards for a clean working environment.
  • Performs calibration of all lab equipment according to frequency schedule.
  • Data entry of project in appropriate file location either physical, electronic or both.
  • Identifies need for ordering equipment and supplies for the Color Match Lab through an approval process.
  • Works with Lead and/or Manager to determine project priorities.
  • Adheres to all safety rules and regulations according to quality and safety policies.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate degree, technical trade school preferred or minimum 2 years ink industry technical experience.
  • 2+ years prior color matching in multiple ink systems preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good organization skills: ability to prioritize.
  • InPlant experience preferred
