Job description

RSG Landscaping, LLC. is looking for an experienced Crew Leader for our grading division located in Lynchburg, VA. This job is mostly in the Lynchburg, Roanoke, Charlottesville, and Richmond, VA areas. There will be times that travel will be required for out of town projects. The Crew Leader supervises and works alongside crew members to successfully complete sitework projects. Handles complex work activities using heavy equipment which may include front-end loaders, excavators, skid steers, dozers, graders, compactors, trucks, and other pieces of equipment. Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Use heavy construction machinery to load and/or move various materials
  • Read specifications, blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures
  • Resolve problems when they arise
  • Properly follows RSG Landscaping and OSHA safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Virginia Driver’s License

Class A or B CDL (Required)

GED/High School Diploma preferred

3 plus years of proven experience as a Grading/Sitework/Utility Foreman

Completion of an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course (Preferred)

WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS

  • This position requires a flexible work schedule: nights, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime
  • Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • This position requires working in the internal and external environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate

SALARY: $19.00-$28.00/per hour dependent on experience
