HI-FI is a live music and special events venue located in the Fountain Square District of Indianapolis, IN. HI-FI presents national, regional and local concerts 6 nights per week.
Job Description
Position: Box Office Associate - Event Based
Schedule: Nights, Weekends, Friday (Day), Select Holidays
Type: Part Time to Full Time | 1-3 Nights Per Week Event Based
Compensation: $13.00-$15.00 per hour. Eligible for increase after 1 year.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, outgoing music lover with a knack for customer service and troubleshooting. Our Box Office Associate's primary role is selling tickets to customers, managing will call and guest lists, and ensuring a great customer experience. While no prior ticket sales experience is required, any prior event or customer service-related work will provide a strong advantage. We're seeking candidates who prides themselves in teamwork and can remain calm in stressful situations. This position reports directly to the Box Office Manager.
This role also provides a great entry point to future opportunities within our companies.
Responsibilities
  • Open, close and manage box office during events
  • Sell tickets and upgrades using our in-house ticketing platforms
  • Manage customer service and event inquiries via phone, email, and in person
  • Support event manager and artist tour manager for credentials, access and VIP events
  • Process and manage customer seating upgrades
  • Settlement and reconciliation of cash transactions at the end of shift
  • Change venue marquee at the end of each shift
  • Present a positive attitude and welcoming first impression to customer
  • Maintain a clean and organized working space

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Comfortable using online technology and proficient typing skills
  • Preferred: Prior event or customer service experience
  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time

Skills Required
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and phone etiquette skills
  • Problem-solver who excels at troubleshooting
  • Preferred: Experience using an online ticket platform such as See Tickets, Eventbrite, Ticketmaster
  • Comfortable using online technology and proficient typing skills
  • Positive, outgoing personality who can remain pleasant under challenging situations
  • Self-starter who can excel with little supervision
