Job Description:

Metro State University, Minnesota's public, urban university, and four-time recipient of the Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator. This is a full -time, probationary position within the College of Individualized Studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate entering, continuing, and exiting student pathways among the dean's office, college faculty, and academic advisors.

  • Coordinate curricular and cocurricular programs and activities.

  • Coordinate and contribute to college outreach and partnership programs including campus, inter-institutional, community, and workforce development partners.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.

Minimum Qualifications:

The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:

  • One of the following:

    • Master's degree plus one year of professional experience

    • Bachelor's degree plus two years of professional experience

    • Three years of professional experience.

    • An equivalent combination of post-secondary training, education and/or relevant professional experience relevant.

  • Knowledge of the practices and procedures specific to higher education.

  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish objectives by integrating knowledge of multiple, complex systems, standards, or rules.

  • Demonstrated ability to connect day-to-day functions to program and university goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in fostering a student-centered environment promoting persistence and completion

  • Knowledge of Minnstate or Metro State policies, procedures, systems or assumed practices

  • Knowledge of HLC assumed practices and accreditation requirements

  • Demonstrated history of collaboration with multiple institutional and community partners

The School/Academic Department:

The College of Individualized Studies Dean's Office supports the Individualized Studies (IS) program and its faculty, along with key cocurricular initiatives, community and alumni engagement efforts, and several academic innovation units. These include the Center for Educational Innovation, the Student-Directed Learning (SDL) Office, the TREC program (College in Prison and Academic Re-Entry), and CPLAN (Credit for Prior Learning). The college is guided by three core tenets-student agency, community engagement, and competency-based education-which shape its academic programs, partnerships, and student experience.

Salary:

This is a Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty (MSUAASF) Range C position with a salary range of $47,845 (minimum) to $93,809 (maximum). Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State) and the MSUAASF organization.
