Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Training Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Work Arrangement: On-site during training, then Hybrid (2-3 days on-site, remaining days remote based on performance)

Overtime: Available but not required

As a Collections Specialist, you will manage a high-volume portfolio of business accounts, proactively contacting customers to collect outstanding balances, negotiate settlements, and resolve payment issues. The ideal candidate is resilient, self-motivated, and comfortable navigating challenging conversations while maintaining professionalism.

• Make an average of 80+ outbound collection calls daily to recover past-due balances.
• Manage a portfolio of approximately 200 to 600 accounts per week.
• Handle inbound calls generated from collection email campaigns.
• Contact customers via phone and email regarding outstanding balances.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and settle accounts when appropriate.
• Document customer interactions and account activity within the CRM system and spreadsheets.
• Conduct account research and investigations to identify payment solutions.
• Generate and submit daily activity and collection reports.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and collection regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

• Minimum 2-3 years of First-Party Collections experience with a strong emphasis on outbound calling.
• Working knowledge of collection laws and regulations, including the FDCPA and its purpose.
• Strong negotiation, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to persuade customers and successfully collect balances over the phone.
• Strong listening skills and the ability to navigate difficult conversations professionally.
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
• Ability to hardwire internet equipment when working remotely.

• Merchant services collections experience
• Business-to-business (B2B) collections experience
• Sales or negotiation experience
• Experience using Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.)

• Fully on-site for the first 1-2 months of training.
• Upon successful completion of training and achievement of attendance, quality, and performance expectations, employees may transition to a hybrid schedule:
  • 2-3 days on-site
  • Remaining days remote
• Candidates must be flexible to work the training schedule and rotating shifts during onboarding.

In addition to base compensation, employees may qualify for a lucrative incentive program:

• Eligibility begins after collecting at least $30,000
• Three-tier commission and bonus structure
• Top performers regularly earn $2,000 - $3,000+ per month
• Top 5% of performers may earn up to $10,000+ per month in additional incentives

• Based on audited calls and performance reviews
• Earn $150 - $300 per month

• Additional $150 - $300 per month when team performance goals are achieved

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
