The Partner Account Manager (PAM) is a relationship driven, strategic and consultative sales professional who serves as the main point of contact with our vendor partners. This critical role strengthens and grows partnerships that drive value for our members, partners, and company.

Position Summary: The partner account manager will be assigned specific vendor partner accounts and have subject matter expertise in various channels that they will be called on to act as a subject matter expert for vendor, partner, and member engagement purposes. The PAM will be expected to meet regularly with key internal teams, such as community leaders, marketing, contracting and member success. Reporting Accountability: SVP of Vendor Partner Success 

Working Location: On-site in Waterloo, Iowa or hybrid/remote

Working Hours Classification: Full-Time exempt, travel required 

What you'll do

  • Develop, manage, and grow strategic vendor partnerships to drive retention, engagement, and revenue growth
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned vendors, addressing needs, resolving issues, and ensuring a high-quality partner experience
  • Demonstrate and communicate VGM’s value proposition in all interactions, including regular business reviews and ongoing partner communications
  • Identify opportunities and recommend products, services, and initiatives aligned to vendor goals
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Channel Leadership) to execute strategies and achieve defined KPIs
  • Represent VGM in external partner meetings and provide regular updates on performance, initiatives, and opportunities
  • Establish and monitor vendor-specific KPIs in partnership with stakeholders, maintaining shared accountability for results
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all vendor interactions, contracts, renewals, and opportunities within CRM systems
  • Manage communications to keep vendors informed of key updates, including industry trends, events, and organizational initiatives
  • Support vendors by addressing inquiries and directing them to appropriate internal resources when needed
  • Strengthen internal and external relationships to ensure alignment, collaboration, and long-term partnership success
  • Contribute to new vendor acquisition efforts in partnership with leadership
  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented team environment and perform additional duties as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred; or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in healthcare, HME/DME, distribution, manufacturing, member services, group purchasing, or a vendor-supported business model 
  • 5+ years of medical supply distribution and GPO experience specifically with an understanding of how pricing, contracts and rebates work
  • 5+ years sales, account management, or customer success experience
  • Experience using CRM systems to document activities, managing opportunities, track tasks, and maintaining accurate partner records
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Client focused approach to work
  • High degree of professionalism/ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
  • Recognized proficiency to work well with others across the organization; demonstrating the ability to work cooperatively and build consensus
  • Proven attention to detail, follow-through skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning

        Preferred Qualifications

        • Familiarity with leading manufacturers and distributors of enteral nutrition, incontinence, wound care, respiratory and other key categories
        • Familiarity with sales pipelines, revenue forecasting, retention strategies, or partner performance dashboards
        • Solid working knowledge of CRM and other relevant software such as MS-office: Word, PowerPoint etc.)

        Physical Requirements

        • Using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
        • Off-hour meetings and events on occasion
        • Frequent travel may be required

        Compensation Overview:  

        The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
