Job description

Description:

Position Overview: The Collection Officer is responsible for recovering money owed to Vibrant for delinquent loan, visa, and deposit accounts tominimize financial losses caused by delinquent accounts.


What You Will Do:

  •  Communicate with members to resolve delinquency on accounts via phone, email, or letter
  •  Conduct a professional but direct conversation with members that assists in resolving delinquency on accounts
  •  Perform successful account maintenance by gaining member contact, resolving delinquency, and restoring member account access 
  •  Maintain availability for front-line questions while promptly addressing concerns and prioritizing tasks
  •  Leverage skip-tracing tools and techniques to locate and make contact with delinquent members 
  •  Use collection software/system and accurately document accounts in a clear, concise manner
  •  Provide recommendations for effective charge-off and repossession using supporting evidence
  •  Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly performance benchmarks for the role
Requirements:

Our Ideal Candidate:

  •  High school diploma or GED required
  •  Six months’ of financial and service experience preferred
  •  Working knowledge of state and federal regulations (CFPB) that govern collection practices 
  •  Working knowledge of general banking policies and procedures
  •  Working knowledge of collateral protection insurance (CPI)

Environmental and Physical Activity Requirements: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require effective talking, hearing, walking, finger dexterity, reaching, stooping, and grasping functions. The position also often requires reaching and lifting (up to 25 pounds). Frequent sitting, standing, and repetitive motion activities are also required. Must be able to read print and computer-based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy. Most of these functions require light physical exertion and are conducted indoors at controlled degrees of temperature.
