The Glen Club is an award-winning Tom Fazio-designed golf course located in Glenview, Illinois, just outside Chicago. Built on the former Glenview Naval Air Station, the property features a unique blend of dramatic elevation changes, lakes, streams, and naturalized areas across 195 acres. Managed by KemperSports, The Glen Club delivers a premier golf experience while offering a culture focused on excellence, professional development, and career growth within the golf industry.
Position Summary:
The Glen Club is seeking a motivated Assistant in Training (AIT) to join our Golf Course Agronomy team. This position is designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in the golf course industry and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of course maintenance and management.
The AIT will work closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents while developing technical skills, leadership abilities, and a deeper understanding of daily golf course operations.
As part of the KemperSports network, this position also offers a unique opportunity for year-round development. The role is expected to run from approximately April through mid-November, with the potential for a winter transfer to Streamsong or another Kemper property in a warm-weather climate, allowing the candidate to continue building experience, support operational needs during peak seasons, and expand their professional network across multiple facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Course setup, mowing, hand watering, data collection
  • Assist with fertilizer and plant protectant applications
  • Partciapte in construction and improvement projects
  • Learn staff management and scheduling practices
  • Tournament and special club event preparation
