Job description

Inventory Control Clerk – Distribution

Shift/ Wage: $21/hr. 11am to 7:30pm


Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Clerk to support inventory management, order processing, and distribution operations within a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory across multiple systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies, processing inventory dispositions, managing order queues, and supporting timely order fulfillment.

The ideal candidate has experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, distribution, logistics, shipping, or order processing and is comfortable working with ERP and warehouse management systems. Strong computer skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Audit inventory transactions in SAP, Manhattan, ADMS, and other inventory or warehouse management systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies identified during order processing and daily distribution activities.
  • Reconcile inventory between physical materials and system records and identify potential causes of discrepancies.
  • Process rejected, expired, short-dated, quarantined, reworked, and destroyed materials according to established procedures.
  • Manage customer and affiliate order queues and release orders for delivery to meet shipping requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve orders placed on hold due to inventory status or availability issues.
  • Cancel or modify orders as required according to established procedures.
  • Monitor system error logs and coordinate with appropriate teams to resolve system or inventory issues.
  • Compile, analyze, and report inventory, distribution, and operational performance metrics.
  • Support Distribution, Receiving, and Warehouse operations during periods of increased workload or business demand.
  • Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Receiving teams to resolve inventory and order-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with quality systems and operational procedures.
  • Support employee training and assist with onboarding or process training as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory control, order processing, and distribution processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with applicable quality systems and procedures.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook, to complete daily responsibilities.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations and analyze operational data to support inventory and distribution activities.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, distribution, logistics, shipping, receiving, or order processing.
  • Experience with inventory management, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Experience using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), such as SAP, Manhattan, ADMS, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret data, perform basic calculations, and analyze operational metrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with Quality, Manufacturing, Distribution, Receiving, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working within quality systems or regulated environments is preferred.
  • Customer service or order processing experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare, or regulated distribution environments is preferred but not required.
  • Experience training or mentoring employees is a plus.

  • Ability to work in cold storage/freezer environments at temperatures of -20°C or below.
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs require.
  • Ability to work with multiple computer applications and operating systems simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory and order information.
